In a unanimous decision today, the California Court of Appeals ruled that the City of San Francisco’s handgun ban is illegal under state law, upholding a lawsuit filed by the Second Amendment Foundation and several other groups...
SAF was joined in the lawsuit by the National Rifle Association, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, California Association of Firearms Retailers and several private citizens.

UPDATE: Here's NRA's press release. Notice how SAF credited NRA, as they always do, even though the courtesy is never ever ever ever ever ever reciprocated?
Good for them. Like the article stated, what a waste of time and taxpayer money. I never realized Gun-Nazi Feinstein started her downward spiral in SF.

ReplyDeleteDang. I'll try again...
ReplyDeleteNice to have some encouraging news today.
David, I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to you giving the anti-Paul smearbund what-for.
Here's my pastor on the subject...
Excellent. Let's keep their feet to the fire- I did send a letter to my senator. Here's his response:
ReplyDeleteDear [No Apology]:
Thank you for contacting me with regard to the nomination of United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan to be the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). I appreciate hearing from you and value your input.
As you know, Mr. Sullivan, who has served as Acting Director of the ATF since September 2006, was nominated by President Bush in March 2007 to be Director of the ATF. The ATF operates within the United States Department of Justice and is committed to regulating the firearms and explosives industries, reducing violent crime, and protecting our nation. I am carefully reviewing Mr. Sullivan’s nomination because I believe this critical law enforcement agency must be led by the most qualified individual.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Mr. Sullivan’s nomination by voice vote on November 8, 2007, and he is currently awaiting consideration by the full Senate.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please be assured I will keep your views in mind.
Sincerely,
Ken Salazar
United States Senator
Fkor what it's worth, this consistent behavior of the NRA to jump on the wagon late then claim sole credit has cost them every penny I used to donate to their works. I still pay my membership, but nothing more, and even the membership is now in question. GOA or SAF or some lone group of patriots initiate some action to fight for our rights: this SF suit, the NOLA federal suit, and Parker vs DC, all opposed originally by our good buds at the NRA, and all eventually used by them in their begging letters that flood my mail box.
ReplyDeleteThat and finding out what they pay ol Wayne as a salary has firmed up my opinion quite nicely.

ReplyDeleteNRA was a party on the suit the day it was filed. You can go look up the court case.
That's not saying they shouldn't have given other parties involved credit, but they didn't just jump in later, but were a party to the suit from the beginning.
