But as officers left the scene, they forgot a potentially dangerous part of their operation in front of a neighbor's house: an M4 assault rifle.I could have sworn I saw this story before, some time ago...ahh, here it is.
Nope, that was another "Only One"...

What a turd: the homeowner who reported it. He could have "taken it off the streets" and made his city safer, but instead he handed it back to the gang members.
ReplyDeleteI'd likely have kept this discard. Finders keepers you know.
ReplyDeleteFinders keepers for sure.
ReplyDeleteOne less tool of tyranny to used against The People if kept out of their hands.
When will the officer face charges of illegally transferring a machine gun, or is that charge just reserved for us peons?
Might have returned it in front of town hall after; hiring a good lawyer; inviting local/statewide/national media to a presentation; insisting chiefy and his tac team cmdr attend; disappearing for a couple of days in case a house to house search ensued, just thinking out loud here.
ReplyDeleteHow strange that the identity of the absent minded "Only One" is kept beyond public knowledge.
ReplyDeleteI guess the same consideration would have been shown for any of us who made that mistake, eh?
man...... I'm never that lucky
ReplyDeleteI like Anonymous' idea... you know, a rifle laid on the table, cameras flashing, "assault weapon" buzzwords flying around, stern-faced citizens posing around the table, equating a rifle used for defense with those used by wreckless murderers and gangbangers. Have it live so the guilty party would have to show up to retrieve it on national TV.... that would be EPIC
