"Savage is Asking for It"

In business and especially with the gubmint you do not, I repeat, NOT - "DEMAND" - anything. You 'respectfully request' and use phrases like 'with all due respect'...Len Savage can be right as rain here but he's acting like an ignorant knuckle dragging ass by "demanding".

Yeah, it's not pragmatic and he's making us all look bad!

Did Sergio Have Permission?

Police say it all started when two men tried to hold up Sergio Jewelers in the 3100-block of West 63rd Street. They say the owner, Sergio Vazquez, pulled out his own gun--sparking a shootout with the suspects.

The owner wounded the two suspects. One of those men is now hospitalized in critical condition.
I wonder if Sergio's gun is "legal"? If not, he's making us all look bad and deserves to have the book thrown at him, right?

I also think Father Pfleger ought to lead an indignant mob down to the store and threaten to snuff him out.

We're the Only Ones Forming Posse's Enough

Everything started when two girls told him that some man had flashed them. So Detective Arthur Molnar and two buddies formed a posse and went in search of the alleged flasher.
Failing to find him, they gave the wrong guy a taste of "Only Ones" street justice.

How do I obtain a classification from ATF for my "potato gun?"
Good grief.

A Man of Conviction

Hollis Wayne Fincher has no Second Amendment right to possess a machine gun and a sawed-off shotgun, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.
Of course he does. And a federal appeals court has no legitimate authority to rule otherwise.

That it does speaks to something being terribly, dangerously wrong.

We're the Only Ones Staging Enough

A Dallas, Texas police officer was called a hero after stopping an armed robber at a store where he was working off-duty as a security guard. Now, investigators have charged the officer after they say he staged the whole thing.
Dang. And I was hoping to use the story of his heroics as a good "Only One" counterbalance to all the bad ones I post.

An Expert Opinion

Trump said he would have advised against allowing teachers to arm themselves, if only because of liability concerns. In the long run, it could have been cheaper and safer to hire security or off-duty police, he said.
Yeah--just like at Columbine and Virginia Tech!

If what he says is true, the same could be said for society in general--it will be cheaper and safer if we disarm everyone and leave their protection to paid "Only Ones." You'd just lose your gun in a cafeteria fight anyway.

It must be true, because Ken Trump is a "school safety expert." Just ask him.

Funny--in his long "love me" list of triumphs and accomplishments, I don't see any schools where he is credited with either deterring an attack from happening or stopping one in progress. That's some "credibility," some "cutting edge" expertise.

So--Ken--if you don't believe private citizens are competent to provide for their own defense, work with me here on an illustration. Say a psycho attacker storms into your office and starts shooting at you, your co-workers, your clients--and none of your would be rescuers (hell of a thing for a man to wish for) are around--in your expert opinion, would you blubber and plead or just shriek and howl like a terrified animal...?

We're the Only Ones Not Rushing to Judgment Enough

Retard! [WHAM!]

We're "Only Ones"! [WHAM! WHAM!]
Caught bloody-handed in the act and committing perjury...what's the rush?

But I do understand why they'd want to keep their faces hidden.

We're the Only Ones Who'll Put an Eye Out With That Enough

A Talbot County sheriff's deputy is facing charges in Caroline County that allege he shot a 4-year-old boy with a BB gun...

She said her 5-year-old daughter confirmed the story and that the children had been told not to talk about it.
I guess you could say Deputy Mike is the "Only One" who Plugged him...?

[Via CTone, who writes "I know you said that you had to slow down on posting these, but you also said not to stop." Hey, this is a bigger than me, and there's more to come.]

We're the Only Ones Who Don't Have to Show You Any Stinking Badges Enough

More than 40 business executives and other professionals appointed as special reserve deputies by erstwhile Orange County Sheriff Michael S. Carona have reported their badges and IDs lost or stolen, including his chief political and legal advisor Michael Schroeder -- who lost two shields...

The Professional Service Responder ranks have long been riddled by controversy. Carona created the special category of reserves shortly after he took office nine years ago and filled it with some of the county's richest and most powerful residents. Many are also campaign contributors, leading to allegations that Carona was doling out badges to allies.

Civic luminary "Only Ones"--now what could go wrong with that? Forget the badges--did they get guns, too?

And why can't I get this clip out of my head?

This Day in History: August 15

The United Colonies, firmly persuaded of the justice of their cause, and that resistance is indispensable, committing their cause to Heaven, have opposed force to force, and are determined to die or be free.
