Because there was this.
I sent this:
Because they've been silent on this.
I must say, the almost absolute non-reaction on the Albert Kwan story from the "pro gun" community disappoints me. Aside from a very few notable exceptions, you'd never even know about it unless you regularly read Gun Rights Examiner.
Why do you suppose that is? And do you think a newspaper is likely to care if "activist gun owners" do not?
Here's a way to help correct that, if anyone is interested...

We're the Only Ones...or Are We?...Enough
Lujan was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed firearm without a firearms ID, theft and official misconduct. [More]So is he or is he not an "Only One"? Perhaps the fact that he hasn't been charged for something you or I would be in the slammer for will give us a clue...?

Meanwhile, Over in Boss Daley Paradise
The holiday weekend turned violent in Chicago, where police reported 10 people killed and at least 30 wounded on the city's streets. [More]Forget it Jake. It's Chi-Town.
Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...
The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S. [More]This was the catalyst for my newest Guns Magazine column, just submitted a minute ago. The article practically wrote itself.
Speaking of the magazine, I just realized I haven't given a column link in a while. Here are my latest efforts there:
- "A Red Herring" (Aug)
- "Holder Shows Hand Too Soon" (Jul)
- "Outside the Choir" (May)
Full Auto Fail?
Moreno said up to three men wearing all black stormed the gathering and opened fire with automatic weapons. [More]Three assailants with submachine guns only wounded a dozen victims?
Any bets on whether or not this story will change? Not that it matters...the first impression is the one that will last.

Leigh Winchell, the ICE Hyperbole Queen
The Desert Eagle pistol can "blow a hole the size of a Mack truck through a person," said Leigh Winchell, regional chief of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. [More]Basically, what she's saying is this:
Oooh--"powerful weapons"...boogedy-boogedy!
Hysteria objective achieved. Job well done, "Authorized Journalist" Tim Klass of the AP.
Hey, I wonder if these are among the 90% of Mexican "crime guns" we need to cite in order to further restrict U.S. gun sales?

We're the Only Ones Arming Criminals Enough
Equipment stolen from a Conneaut police officer’s home earlier this week, including a pistol and stun gun, were recovered during a search of a West 39th Street house in Ashtabula... [More]What, you mean he didn't keep his firearm "safely" stored, locked up in a safe and separated from its ammunition like the rest of us are cautioned to do--sometimes under penalty of law, especially if things go amiss as a result?
If we were to take the gun grabbers' tack on this, could we claim 100% of weapons seized from Ashtabula drug dealer homes on July 2 were traceable to an "Only One" supplier?

We're the Only Ones Embedding Enough
A 14-year-old girl from Tucumcari, New Mexico wound up in the hospital with a Taser dart embedded in her skull after her mother, Stacy Akin, took her to the police department because the two of them had been fighting... [More]Resolving domestic disputes, "Only Ones"-style...
I think I'll abdicate my fundamental responsibilities and turn them over to the state. What could go wrong?

Schillerstrom Wrong Choice for Gun Owners
That most Illinois gun owners could not be motivated to rally and strenuously oppose Kirk is something they must answer for, but the rest of us must pay for. Let us hope they do not act (or fail to act) similarly with Schillerstrom. After all, if you let someone walk all over you--even spit on you--without consequence and even with reward, what incentive do you ever give them--or those watching--to change or consider a different course? [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at another Illinois republican weasel, and challenges gun owners there to unequivocally reject him.
Will they?
