I know who's going to respond and how. Let me be clear: I am not one of those "pry it out of my cold, dead hands" guys. No one in the city but a copper ought to have a handgun. And so on.Well then it sounds to me like you got just what you were asking for, you contemptible Fudd. Now even the birds have no cause to fear you.
But I am a fellow who grew up in Northern Ontario and who was once the scourge of the clay pigeon, feared among the partridges. [More]
And so much for those who call gun owners paranoid for pointing out that registration enables confiscation.

There'd a been two dead cops right there, and however many responded after that. I ain't kiddin' either.
ReplyDeleteHe did get what he wanted and now is crying about it? God's justice is not without humor.
ReplyDeleteQuote from Fudd: "I guess, when the Feds began the long-gun registry, I should have lied and not bothered to register the damn thing."
ReplyDeleteJeepers, ya think?!?!?!????
One must be careful what he prays for, he might get it.
ReplyDeleteHell of it is, there are a lot of people right here in the USSA praying for the same thing the Canadians got when their prayers were answered.

What the Hell did he expect? All of history is replete with the inevitability of just this end as regards weapons registry, but he didn't even need to know history all he had to do was listen to those who did and warned him repeatedly. The only sentiment I can work up for him and his ilk is disgust, because every time they bend over they train the tyrants' thugs to believe it is their right to bend any/every body over and have their way with them.
ReplyDeleteThat is why I so vehemently oppose all those "pragmatists" who try to tell us which issues are worth fighting for to the end. They haven't a clue. They don't understand why you fight every battle unless your goal is to encourage the enemies of your liberty.
I would bet when the long gun registry came into being in Canada this guy was one of those "reasonable" voices who said "What could it hurt? If you're law-abiding you have nothing to fear."
Like all "pragmatists on principle" he sows the seeds of everyone's destruction while counseling "reasonableness". They never understand that there can be no "reasonableness" when any entity is set to abuse you or the principles of liberty. What they do understand is their own fear. What they hate are those who fight and therefore make them feel small and ineffectual.
Unfortunately, even though this guy got exactly what he wanted, he and his ilk make it policy applied to better men. Thus ensuring at some point massive bloodshed.
For among other evils which being unarmed brings you, it causes you to be despised....
ReplyDeleteBecause there is nothing proportionate between the armed and the unarmed; and it is not reasonable that he who is armed should yield obedience willingly to him who is unarmed, or that the unarmed man should be secure among armed servants. -- Nicolo Machiavelli
The Prince: Chapter XIV
First, they've closed comments already, that on a story that appeared two days ago. That's fear of information.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Montana for four years, from 1969 to 1973, two Canadians were my roommates for over two of those years, our ages varied from 24 (me) to age 32 (the home owner), all batchelors going to college, living in a private home. Heavenly.
The Canadians were estatic that I owned not just rifles, but harndguns which they simply could not own without substantial hardship. Their favorite was a .357 magnum Smith and Wesson Model 19, with four inch barrel. It was amazing, and pathetic now that I look back, watching them laugh with delight firing that revolver.
Canada today is only slightly behind Great Britain as a superfluous country with regard to rights protections.
They already prosecute native born Canadians for voicing opposition to what are essentially invaders from non-civilized countries such as Pakistan, India, Hong Kong, and other countries.
I've kept up with most of my Canadian friends over the years, when in the states, they're free to voice their opinions about the plight of their country, but stating the same thing in public at home will see them arrested and charged merely for what they say.
Proof positive that tolerating ANY gun confiscation at all leads to dire consequences.
