What Are the Best Places to Do the Most Good for Gun Rights?

I just received an email that required a detailed response. Because it addresses some common concerns, I thought I might as well share it with you... [More]
Today's second Gun Rights Examiner column seemed like a good place to answer a question, which, unfortunately, I couldn't really do...

Oregon Alert

I had a busier-than-hell weekend, which explains the no posting. Anyway, I missed this alert from Oregon Firearms Federation in my inbox when I posted today's GRE.
Although the "special" session does not start until February, the Oregon legislature has already scheduled a "work session" on a "legislative concept" to reverse gains made in the 2009 session.
Go to the OFF site to find out how, and pass their link to all your friends in Oregon.

Salt of the Earth

"Furious Mike" wants to control it--and you. [More]

The man is mad, you know.

We're the Only Ones Giving the Department (and You) a Black Eye Enough

No charges have been filed against Gill, whose father, Gerald Gill, is a lieutenant in the department’s Detective Bureau...

...He was yelling, ‘I’m a cop, I can kick your ass and get away with it!’ ”

Just a few bruised apples, right? No "Only One" wagon circling going on?

You certainly can't tell by the comments over there...

We're the Only Ones Penetrating Enough

A former Memphis police officer pleaded guilty today to charges related to having sex with prostitutes while on duty and in uniform. [More]
Actually, he was out of uniform--at least from below the belt.

And it wasn't just sex--it was coerced sex.

You know--rape.

And what's this? He was "one of four officers charged last year"?

You mean one of the bad ap...uh..."few that fail"?

So it's not like "Only Ones" do this because they have institutionalized reasons to believe that citizens are theirs to dispose of as they will, and that they can get away with it? Or that seven years with the possibility of "diversion or probation" with a later record-cleaning for serial kidnapping and rape makes the risk worth it?

Do you think we'd see similar mercy shown one of the working girls had she rightfully blown one of these dicks...away?

We're the Only Ones Punishing the "Law-Abiding" Enough

Charlie Mitchener followed the law. He has trained at Front Site and with Tactical Response and continues to regularly visit the range. Yet, "In an instant, I am in handcuffs (at 61 years old, this was a first), and there were no bad guys in handcuffs with me, just the guy who thought he was doing things correctly," he writes. [More]
Cowardice under color of authority endangers us all. Why would we pay for that?

The official excuse appears to be the "Only One" was kind of new. Which I guess is a polite way of saying "incompetent" without admitting to anything...?

Another reason why "freedom to carry" must become the norm...

"No Harm, No Foul..."

...when an anti-gun politician breaks a "gun law"... [More]

Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...

Myleene Klass, the broadcaster and model, brandished a knife at youths who broke into her garden – but has been warned by police that she may have acted illegally. [More]
"Contemptible" pretty much covers it.

Tyranny in Action

What good is having representation if it's not recognized? [More]

A significant point of order to Rep. Cantor: It's not "an insult to our democracy."

It's attempted murder of the Republic.

And Murtha is a domestic enemy.

We're the Only Ones Reforming Health Care Enough

"The investigation found that jail medical personnel had falsified a medication log to show that the detainee, a Salvadoran named Nery Romero, had been given Motrin. The fake entry was easy to detect: When the drug was supposedly administered, Mr. Romero was already dead," it says. [More]
And just think--when our A-rated pal gets his way, all us prisoners will receive the same high quality "Only Ones" care.

Want Safer Streets?

Repeal all gun laws. [More]
John Longenecker explains.

CAS Hardening

Cycling back to terrorism, the elite planner’s response to threats like underwear bombs is to build elaborate but increasingly brittle security systems in which airline passengers are involved only as victims. The CAS response would be to arm the passengers, concentrate on fielding bomb-sniffers so cheap that hundreds of thousands of civilians can carry one, and pay bounties on dead terrorists. [More]
CAS?

I include links for a reason.

'Gun Laws' Author Says It's Time to Push 'Freedom to Carry'

..."Freedom to Carry" and "Constitutional Carry" are powerful concepts that open the door to further dialog and teaching opportunities, and based on results in Vermont and Alaska are doable and capable of being expanded elsewhere. Why not find out where? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column notes opportunities to expand beyond permitted carry.
