How to Win
As told by a loser... [More]
This is further "establishment" dissing of the hard core base, reminding me of how I was once dismissed as a "principles freak."
I see the divide being paralleled in what I may start referring to as "The Gulf War." More on that when I get the time, probably not until next week, but who knows?
Forget "Reclaiming the Elephant." The Cantor crowd intends to replace it with a RINO.
More on Cantor here.

Whoreganizing for Action
Just got this email:
OK, so do we get to talk back and tell the fool to go fire himself off his balcony or through the front door, or just listen to his moronic blather? Still, they've already got my edress, so why not check out what I need to do to get that exclusive "off the record" dope for dopes?
My edress automatically appeared. The bottom box had an asterisk, and it took a bit of trial and error to get the word "ZIP" to appear and figure what they were asking me for.
Oh, look, this is what they're asking me for (and why the hell do I need to promise "I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States"? Tell me they won't fix that when they think they can get away with it!). Let's see what happens if I just want to hear the call for free...
"0" isn't an option? If I were a minority (and how many Transylvanians do you know?), wouldn't this disenfranchise me?
You know, Obama's right. His is the most transparent administration in history.
UPDATE: Oh, look what was waiting in my inbox:
Looks like once they get a nibble, they have no intention of letting a fish go.
They're "hosting" the call on YouTube. They couldn't just say that right up front?
Now the question is, will comments be enabled?

We Get Ink
Lobby Day, including my speech, in the news, as told by "real reporters."
Gun rights activist David Codrea was there to challenge legislation that he fears could result in the disarmament of citizens. [More]Kelsey and Lyndsey, it's not like I'm unapproachable or unreachable. Instead of leaping to illusions, you could have talked with me. I don't fear legislation will disarm all gun owners, just the ones who won't matter in what comes next.
“I once had a boss who taught me the correct way to pronounce that is McAwful. Who said, in his state of the Commonwealth address – this is what the guy says: ‘As a gun owner myself, I fully believe that law abiding citizens have a right and responsible to carry fire arms, but …’ Stop right there. There are sure are a lot of politicians with big butts waddling around, aren’t there?” [More]Sandy, how come everyone there but you got that "big but" is spelled with one "t"?
“It’s really not about guns, it’s about freedom,” gun-rights advocate and author David Codrea told the crowd. “Work with us or we will work to retire you,” he said, addressing lawmakers.
He finished his remarks with a bang, shouting “I will not disarm!” and garnering cheers from the crowd. [More]Kathy, when we spoke, I shared with you that Virginians for Responsible Gun Laws does not appear on Guidestar, is not registered as a nonprofit with the Secretary of State, and has it's website registered through a proxy. I thought we were in agreement that the money behind a group attempting to change laws is important information the public has a right to know, and that you were going to follow up on that. Here's hoping you still intend to, and here's stating my intent to not drop this.
Last Sunday on Armed American Radio
Co-host live in the Tampa FL studios of AAR affiliate AM 860 The Answer- "The Gun Writer" from the Sarasota Herald Tribune Lee Williams, AAR Regular Contributor from Phoenix AZ Amber Kunau, Pro-Rights attorney John Monroe, Regular Contributors David Codrea, George The Mad Ogre Hill, phone calls, tweets and more! [Listen]I called in during Hour Three from my Richmond hotel to talk about the Lobby Day speech I went there to deliver.

Still, now that the prosecutor has also weighed in, chances are this will never be fully investigated to the point where a lifetime of flaunting prohibited person rules will be investigated.

Speech commends Virginia's grassroots leaders, defies gun-grabbers
That’s why “compromise” is so insidious – besides where’s the compromise if I take what’s yours and give you no concession except not trying to take everything –for now. If you think about it, that makes as much sense as throwing a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of jackals and believing that will satisfy them, and they’ll go off and leave you alone. If anyone wants to try that theory out, the Metro Richmond Zoo is down the road, and I’m sure they have a predator or two that would welcome you in its enclosure. [More]This morning's Gun Rights Examiner report is the transcript of my Lobby Day speech. After several days' absence from home, there's a lot of stuff I need to catch up on. I hope to have another piece later today or tomorrow recounting my experiences there and tying in what "news" accounts there were.

Once Considered Laughable
. . . Mr. Cobb, of Ala., offered a proviso, which occasioned much laughter, namely–”having in view the salutary effect of the Peace Convention at Frankfort-on-the-Main, we may abolish arms for the use of war, and that the arms may be made on such a plan as they may be used for hunting game and other amusements.” The entire clause was then stricken out. The Gulf Widens
Workman:
Vanderboegh:
I will have more to say about this schism when I have time to formulate my thoughts. Maybe this week, maybe next. I have some developing priorities of my own I need to focus on first.
I see Mike has credited me with the term "Molon Labia" in a few posts. Just to clear something up, my use (not origination) of the term is reserved for those who have done nothing constructive to protect, preserve and advance the right to keep and bear arms though peaceable means still available to us, and limit their "activism" to anonymous comments on blogs and forums about welcoming a civil war. I have a difficult time accepting as credible someone who has never lifted a finger to do relatively easy stuff and then trusting they will come through for the long haul on real up close and personal involvement -- and all that entails -- should their wishes come true.
- Unfolding debate: Do rifle-toting activists help or hurt 2A effort?
- House bans open carry in its gallery as SHOT Show opens in Las Vegas
Vanderboegh:
- A little free advice for Alan Gottlieb: "People who live in grass houses shouldn't throw lawnmowers."
- The Further Adventures (in their own tiny minds) of the Molon Labians. "A few stupid extremists." It seems I have pissed off Gottlieb and his Igor, Dave Workman. Whatever shall I do?

"Unvaccinated" Sounds So Much Less "Offensive" than "Infectious"
Coming soon, to a public gathering near you... [More]
Why is speculation about a significant increase limited to "right wing" websites and such? Is there a function CDC is supposed to have in terms of giving the public complete information on public health threats? Anybody know of a specific post here that addresses this outbreak and identifies the source?
If not, why not?
I mean, if we need to treat guns like a public health threat, shouldn't we at least do the same thing with diseases?
