ATF Seeking Public Comment on Proposed Bump Stock Rule

Talk about something that clearly infringes on the very arms that have “some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia [or] that [are] part of the ordinary military equipment, or that … could contribute to the common defense.” Instead, we’re being asked to help provide cover to rationalize yet another Intolerable Act, and this one with the sanction of our “gun rights leaders.” [More]
If this doesn’t sit well with you, submit a comment on the proposed rule. I did.

I notice gunkapos supporting this have already started popping up in article comments, so feel free to express yourself there, too.

I, Nazi

Wishing people “merry Christmas” instead of “happy holidays,” is thus in line with Trump’s decision to ban citizens of Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, critics say. I guess people like me are too old and hateful for reeducation camps, so all that's really left is to turn in those guns and go stand over by that ditch.  Because face it, I'll never be able to make restitution for all that racial and gender privilege I've been exploiting at the expense of oppressed minorities.

You Can Stop the Signal?

War On Guns Correspondent Neil W was one of the readers who sent me a link that resulted in this post. As is my practice, I sent him my link to let him know his tip was used.

Facebook marked my reply as spam on a thread he initiated with me. It's not the first time he's alerted me to that.

My whole policy on "social media" -- I don't use it for social stuff, but solely to publicize my work.  As such, I don't send out "friend requests" because that would be spamming. All of my "friends" initiated contact with me, and I screen them to try and avoid trolls and whores.  Ditto, I find I'm in a lot of groups I never even heard of -- someone took it on themselves to add me. So if any of those don't want to see my links, they're free to back away.

What I don't know is if an anti did slip in and has filed spam complaints, if someone or some algorithm at Facebook is doing it, or if this particular account has a security setting triggering a spam designator. Naturally there is no obvious way to contact anyone on Team Zuckerberg and who's got time to waste on "help groups"?

Right now I have one question: Anybody else on Facebook seeing my links tagged as spam?

Then again, there's always the possibility things are as they appear. That's the problem when the default position is to no longer trust the government and media to tell the truth, and to assume you're being played.

ShotSpotter Alerts Police To Lots Of Gunfire, But Produces Few Tangible Results [More]
Who knew?

Per WarOnGuns Correspondent William T:
I read your article re: the missing Captain, and noted your tongue-in-cheek reference to "CopSpotter". For whatever reason, I decided to do a search to see how effective the ShotSpotter system might be. If the article I found is anywhere near accurate, ShotSpotter is worthless. I used this Forbes article as the basis of the attached S/S.

I downloaded the data files Forbes purportedly used to produce their article, but was unable to reconcile the raw data to the web article. I'm attaching the ZIP file I downloaded, as well as an Excel spreadhseet that demonstrate how useless ShotSpotter is. Hope it's useful.

But hey, you get the budget, you gotta spend it if you want to "justify" more next year.  Isn't that the way it works?

Plus if your ineptitude and corruption allows things to get too hot, you can always hold another "buyback" dog and pony show.
