How to Hold Holder Without "Using Guns"

In yesterday's post asking for help in opposing confirmation of Eric Holder as attorney general, I promised to address what to say to a senator who is hostile to the "gun rights" argument. [More]
Here's today's Gun Rights Examiner column.

We have a chance to oppose someone who is a proven enemy of gun rights.

So far, the response from the "gun community," including the raising of awareness and calls for action, has been underwhelming.

How that will help effect peaceable change is beyond me.

I've been talking about this.

And talking.

And talking.

And...

Unfortunately, none of our "gun rights leaders" have been. Anybody hear a peep out of any of the groups that accept donations...? It's basically been a handful of WarOnGuns regulars and a few supportive bloggers...

I haven't had time to watch this yet.

I'm told they exhibited expected arrogance and asked a "How many guns do you own?" question, but haven't confirmed it. Hell, Lon Horiuchi could field that one.

Help me keep an eye on these weasels. The fix is in, or at least is being set up, for Michael Steele, you know, the guy who says society needs to draw a line because we don't need "assault weapons" to hunt with...

UPDATE: Yep--look at 31 minutes and a couple seconds into it. Steele is the only one who said "None," but as we know, mere ownership means nothing. Which is why they intentionally screwed us with this question, when so many thoughtful ones that would actually tell us something were asked.

Ray? Mike Here. Hey, Could You Send Some of Your Guys Down Here to Shut Up Some Damn Crazy Woman Screaming Outside?

A silent lunatic attacked a female jogger in broad daylight on Sunday, beating her senseless just steps away from Gracie Mansion, cops said.
Fortunately, Furious Mike, who has around-the-clock taxpayer-funded armed security, was uninjured. He won't live in such a dangerous neighborhood anyway.

Look at the bright side, pal--this'll keep you from doing to some other poor guy what happened to you, which is one of the priority functions of Bloomberg's "Only Ones."

We're the Only Ones Murdering the Helpless Enough

A BART police officer struggling to handcuff a 22-year-old man stood up over the facedown Hayward resident and fired a single shot into his back while a handful of officers watched, a video taken by a train passenger apparently shows. [More]
See the video here.

No wonder the Bay Area wants only the "Only Ones" to be armed.

And what the hell is with Chief Gary Gee "declined to identify the officer"?

FIVE DAYS AFTER THE SHOOTING...?

Do you think that would be an issue if one of us had shot a cuffed cop in the back? We deserve to know if there is anyone either so evil or so incompetent running loose among us simply as a matter of public safety.

You can tell Chief Gee that at: ggee@bart.gov

A 71-year-old greeter at the Wal-Mart in Collegedale says Chattanooga Police Det. Kenneth Freeman shoved him to the floor after he tried to stop him for a receipts check...

Collegedale Police declined to charge Det. Freeman, who is 48, with assault. [More]
Well naturally. Do you think they would have declined had it been the greeter assaulting the "Only One"?

Come to think of it, had it been anyone else who set off the alarm, do you think the contents of his bag would have been checked?

We're the Only Ones Towed Enough

A Brainerd businessman who owns three buildings near the controversial Deep Blue club said an off duty Chattanooga Police officer came out of the club when his car was being towed and pulled a gun on the tow truck driver.

Jeff Whitley said the officer approached him with the gun and "got in my face numerous times until he finally was told by other officers to go home." [More]
Do you think if the driver had pulled a gun on the "Only One" that his cop buddies would have told Whitley to go home?

We're the Only Ones Hiring Enough

Despite a bleak economic environment featuring wide-ranging layoffs and rising unemployment, the nation's premier law enforcement agency is touting "one of the largest hiring blitzes in our 100-year history." [More]
Well, uh, yeah. It's all part of the prescription.

Plus, we need somebody to rein in those nasty ol' "Homegrown Terrorists."

Not that I'd encourage anyone to download applications from them or BATFU and send in fake ones to make 'em waste resources...there's probably some law against doing that anyway...

Who Will Defend You?

Gun rights advocates have long known that it isn't possible to rely on the police for protection from violent crime. The sad reality is that the police are often reduced to being armed historians, there only to investigate a crime after it has been committed. [More]
