Schimel’s anti-gun rant shows desperation for relevance

But Schimel’s not done. Her new “common sense” crusade involves standing in front of a “Gun Violence Prevention Mural” (no doubt every bit as effective as a candlelight vigil) “located outside of Brower Park, a notorious location for gang activity and gun crimes.” No, she’s not there to confront and eliminate the violent criminals. She’s there to make it more difficult for her constituents to legally protect themselves from them by “call[ing] on State Senator George Maziarz to withdraw his ‘Stand Your Ground’ legislation (S.281).” [More

Another Simple Way to Help

Go here, scroll down and enter text similar to the above along with this link.

Also note the "Gunwalker Man" linked graphic in the WoG sidebar.

Look, I'm going to be a pest about this for the next month, because screaming and stamping feet is the only tool I've really got, and it's what resulted in others finally paying attention to Mike's and my incessant noise-making.

The fact of the matter is, the other side wants to make a citizen disarmament propaganda piece, they get funded.  And they get plenty of free publicity...uh..."news stories".

We don't have that luxury. If we want something done, in this case a truthful narrative, we have to do it all ourselves as a grassroots action, meaning we need many, many small contributors doing what they can.  A link from Drudge would expand the reach on this by more than an order of magnitude.

Tomorrow I'll probably have another bright idea I'll bug you with. Speaking of which, have you written that letter yet? See, I don't do this so that people can just consume, maybe leave a comment and then move on. I do this so people will become force multipliers and their own agents for change.

Armed American Radio for April 22

Armed American Radio with host Mark Walters has posted it's Sunday show on their website.  Here's the breakdown:

Hour 1:
Tampa’s Talk 860 WGUL’s Joe Weaver joins Mark to discuss the mayor of Tampa’s intention to ban guns within a “clean zone” during the 2012 RNC convention.  North American Arms’ Kenny Barlow stops by to discuss the NAA mini revolvers!!! These things are proof positive that you have NO EXCUSE EVER to be unarmed!  AAR is a HUGE fan of these incredible little firearms that can be carried whenever you might not otherwise be able to carry a gun.  Get it?
Hour 2:
Alan Korwin joins Mark and Tampa’s Joe Weaver to bring unbridled truth about your CCW rights and the assault that gun owners find themselves under.  No one tells it quite like Alan.
Hour 3:
The Roundtable.  Joe Weaver from Tampa’s Talk 860 WGUL, David Codrea, Mark and producer Sean give commentary on the weeks events.  The Ogre stopped by but alas, we couldn’t seem to make a phone connection.  Next week.
As long as you're on the internet anyway, why not have these playing in the background?

Trucker accidentally transporting ammo to Mexico highlights inequity in laws

Vanderboegh Medical Update: Good News

I just got off the phone with Mike.  He informed me that he's sitting up and had just finished "a strip of bacon, some scrambled eggs and grits, God love 'em," and was "awaiting judgment" on whether he would hold them down, but had high hopes as he was victorious yesterday over "spaghetti and meatballs and beef tips on rice."

He said "they're talking about letting me go home tomorrow," and had to hang up because his doctor came in the room.

He called me back a few minutes later and said he's scheduled to be released tomorrow morning and will be getting home healthcare visits from a nurse.

I observed this must mean they had the infection under control, and he said "We'll see, at least it's not progressing."

I also told him he sounded a lot stronger and more lucid, and he said that's because they've taken him off the medical marijuana so he's not stoned.  I'd forgotten to mention he was being given Marinol in my previous posts.

We then had a nice conversation about anti-Federalists, Patrick Henry and the strengths and weaknesses of the Constitution.

He tells me he may be doing some posts later today--I'd be surprised if he doesn't.

Half-an hour later...

He called me back with some info on a potential story I can't talk about now, which led into a 45-minute discussion on approaching political and economic storm clouds, and I am very pleased to note that intellectually, he's firing on all cylinders.  I'm very encouraged this morning.

Jamilah's Syllogism

I'm trying to figure this out here...[Read]

If her major premise is that people with guns result in more murders...

And if the NRA, one of the most heavily-armed citizen populations on the planet, brought tens of thousands of members and supporters into the mix and not a single murder occurred because of them...

I can't get this to work.

But then again, this is a logician who calls bringing millions of dollars into the local economy "contemptuous."

I see--so whether they even belonged there or initiated the confrontation or not, if they feel threatened, they have no duty to retreat, they can stand their ground, they can use lethal force and they won't be second-guessed.

This Day in History: April 19

No, I haven't forgotten about other significant events that happened in other years on this "Hatriot's" Day.

How could I forget?

But some of you may have noticed the history posts are focusing on 1780 this year.

Gunwalker Johnny-come-latelies helping to give Holder an escape route

That’s it? And this is supposed to do what to a dominating, radical agenda-driven career belligerent, backed by his president, his party and his press, who demonstrates his ongoing smirking contempt for their impotence with each day’s continued stonewalling? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes it's past time to  knock off with the words and start up with the sticks and stones.

Considering Smarm

Oh, I see what she's doing--taking anecdotes and then making pictures with a gun in them to misdirect the blame through an appeal to ignorance-based emotions.

I can't reproduce any of her stupid crap here because of a rather restrictive and anally-stated use and duplication policy (funny how the ones who cause all the problems with guns would show no respect for her intellectual, physical or primordial property rights if it suited their purposes to take any damn thing they wanted from her), but I can point you to plenty of pictures where there are no guns--and more's the pity.

These bleeding heart herbivore types never consider the harm they do in their self-righteous benightedness.

Vanderboegh Medical Update

I just got off the phone with Mike.

He's got MRSA, a hospital-acquired infection.  He's hooked up to a feeding tube.  He says his "blood values are fairly good."

I asked him if he was able to read, thinking how mind-numbingly boring it must be, and he said yes, he's reading Katie Pavlich's book--she had a pre-publication copy sent to him.

He still sounds weak and may post something later today at Sipsey Street, but "probably not."

Respect Remington

I discussed this briefly here.

There are some more videos here and here.

I'd like to have time to explore this more deeply, because those agenda-driven frauds at NBC News really deserve to have their unethical propaganda practices exposed for all to see.  We'll see--there's a ton of stuff on my plate and only one of me.

A Simple Question

I ask a simple question: Would the other parents of victims be forever thankful if a professor or student was allowed to carry a firearm and could have stopped Seung-Hui Cho before their loved one was injured or killed? I would be. I also suspect that the tragedy may not have occurred at all if Cho knew that either faculty members or students were permitted to carry their own weapons on campus. [More]
I have a simple question, too: Do you think, deep down inside, Colin Goddard and Larry Hincker think the same thing?

Every Man in the World, who is thoroughly acquainted with the Subject, knows, that Great Britain never can obtain a Peace, without a Diminution of her Honor and Dignity. It is impossible without Miracles, and therefore the Englishman who undertakes to plan for Peace, must be convinced of this and take it into his Plan, and consequently should avoid with the utmost Caution every Word, which should excite these Ideas in the Minds of the People. For People cannot bear the Ideas of national Disgrace. They stir Passions which make them mad. [More]

Vanderboegh Medical Update

Project GunTALKER

Mark Walters has posted last night's Armed American Radio program.  I came on at the end of Hour 2 and stayed on for the Hour 3 "Roundtable."

Hour 1:
Fresh from the floor of the NRA annual conventions, back in the AAR Atlanta studio, Mark welcomes Niki Goesser, Stephanie Samford, and David Bray.  Niki gives us the latest news on her husbands murderer’s trial and conviction.  Stephanie, from the NRA gives us the update on the convention from St. Louis and David Bray, lead singer of rock band Madison Rising discusses the bands joint appearance at Galco Gunleather with Mark, Kathy Jackson and Rob Pincus.
Hour 2:
HUGE HOUR! Mark received a call from famed economist, author and Fox News Contributor, Dr. John Lott who was in between flights in Chicago. John and Mark discuss his new book, “Debacle” co-written with Grover Norquist. John pulls no punches discussing the failure of Obama and his policies as well as ties everything together with this president’s gun-hating agenda. NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!!
Hour 3:
The Roundtable includes David Codrea and a very special call from AAR resident Navy SEAL, Larry Yatch!!!  David and Larry bring expertise found nowhere else!  The AAR Roundtable….the FUNNEST hour in national radio!
