‘Adversarial Journalist’ Fails to ‘Intercept’ Truth about Oath Keepers

And if Oath Keepers actually were a threat, what does it say about so many of us knowing about them while our “Homeland Security professionals” remained blisssfuly oblivious, awaiting SPLC agenda instructions? [More]
Apparatchiks parroting "progressive" lies gets tiresome-- especially when they're so readily exposed and they do it anyway.

In terms of my Oath Keepers article being "a moot point,"  I'd counter what is being illustrated are the insulated views of collectivist "pundits," and how the actions of those who heed them reflect a near-complete misunderstanding of those they purport to oppose. Anything that erodes the deterrent factor increases the likelihood of the ignorant doing something stupid, and that makes things dangerous.

The Wrong Question

A relatively famous person in the gun owner rights movement recently criticized this outcome and asked how we can stop illegal straw purchasers if we allow such releases.

In other words, he supports the Brady Act and "background checks," and believes  gun owner control edicts actually work. And has no problem with the fedgov assuming powers nowhere delegated to it in the Constitution. And doesn't really believe in "shall not be infringed."

I guess I really am in the extreme. Were it up to me, guns would be freely traded, and anyone who couldn't be trusted with one would have the appropriate custodial arrangement.

An Unvarnished Opinion

Well, naturally I wish he'd actually read the article, but aside from that, is he really that far off?  I guess I'm more than jaded by the number of readers who won't even lift a finger to share a link let alone kick in a few bucks for something righteous when I ask them nicely. I continue to wonder how many actually do anything besides post "Molon Labe!" comments, and what they'd do if real and prolonged risks and sacrifices were required. And yeah, how many of us are physical or skill equals, let alone training and equipment matches for warriors? And more than that, how many have the mindset and the will? That's not something most will know until they stare down the beast.

Them's fightin' words? There are hard truths we all need to face, even if telling them to us this way is rude and provocative, and riles us. I suspect it's partly meant to.

It will not be the fictional romantic adventure. And more than one of our stalwarts will find themselves making choices they would disparage as the acts of cowards from their present position of comfort and security.

That said, I have to believe I'm on the winning side.  When I no longer do is the day I hang this up.

NRA Board Candidate Stamboulieh Has Earned This Member’s Vote

I’m also endorsing Stamboulieh, with the disclosure that we have been colleagues and, though our communications have been limited to emails and telephone calls, I consider him a trusted advisor and friend. Even so, that’s not enough to earn my endorsement. It’s also been my longstanding policy that any director candidate who receives my vote first needs to give unequivocal answers to questions that leave no wiggle room for weasel-wording your way out. After all, even Dianne Feinstein has claimed to be “a supporter of the Second Amendment BUT…” [More]
He's the only candidate I know of who says "if it in any way affects the 2A, then it should be a graded vote."

The Enemy Within

Leading immigration experts say Sen. Thom Tillis’ (R-NC) latest push for amnesty ignores President Donald Trump’s mandate for cracking down on illegal immigration. [More]
OK, Tillis, you get the same challenge no one else has been able to answer:

In addition to explaining the California experience, produce credible data – something that can be independently validated – that “amnesty” and a “pathway to citizenship” for MILLIONS of foreign nationals in this country illegally (and even legally, with current culturally suicidal policies) WILL NOT overwhelmingly favor Democrats and anti-gunners. Show us your sources and methodologies for determining this WILL NOT result in supermajorities in state and federal legislatures that will be able to pass all kinds of anti-gun edicts.

Show us how this WILL NOT result in nominations and confirmations of judges to the Supreme and federal courts who will uphold those edicts, and reverse gains made to date. The sudden passing of Justice Scalia, and the precarious balances of the Heller and McDonald decisions, ought to drive home for all how dangerously critical that is.

Notice I didn’t ask you for platitudes, or for anecdotes about exceptions to the rule, or about who is turning up in increasing numbers at gun stores and ranges – that doesn’t matter if you can’t point to a corresponding overriding shift in voting trends. I didn’t ask for wishful speculation about how education and outreach programs MIGHT help bring more over to the NRA side.

I asked you to show how all credible estimates putting the disparity at over 70% Democrat and anti-gun are wrong (and how the needle barely moves in the right direction after 20 years). If you think that can be changed, you’re going to need to be specific about how (assuming it can be done, which you’ll also need to spell out), and how by then the damage won’t be irreversible, beyond any kind of beltway insider political “solution.”

How about some verifiable numbers to refute my concerns?

Thank goodness none of this has anything to do with that "single issue," right, NRA?

Show us how his "good votes" now won't be erased and reversed by his support for Norquist/Bloomberg cultural and political terraforming.

Kate Brown Doubling Down on Oregon Infringements Leaves Gun Owners Choice to Obey or Defy

There’s no doubt Brown and her fellow gun-grabbing collectivists will stay on their present course, passing in-your-face infringements because the “progressive” blue counties from which they gain their political power are more heavily populated. They would do well to note the total map, and to ask themselves if they’re really prepared to issue a “Resistance is futile. Prepare to be assimilated” Borg mandate to the rest of the state. [More]

In my latest Oath Keepers piece, I focused on what the FBI says about "militia extremists." Also of interest is something they say about the animal people:
Typical targets include ... companies and individuals involved in animal research, and businesses that ship animals.
So why have they left the people producing abortion drugs alone?
Based on studies with various oral doses in several animal species (mouse, rat, rabbit and monkey), the compound inhibits the activity of endogenous or exogenous progesterone. The termination of pregnancy results.
So they're not just murdering animals -- they're murdering BABY animals!

What a nice-looking young man. How'd you like to run into him ... anywhere? Especially if he was armed and you weren't?

I'm getting conflicting sources on the GFZ status of Rolling Oaks Mall.  Some are saying it's a Simon Mall, with that as a nationwide policy, but the mall is owned by WP Glimcher, which per a 2015 Dayton Daily News report prohibits concealed carry nationwide. That said, this site says they're "neutral," so the truth (with proof) from someone who actually knows -- and can send a photo of relevant signage -- would be most helpful.

It does call truth in advertising into question:

And then there's Kay Jewelers, widely reported to also be anti-gun, owned by the same outfit that makes it easy to say "He went to Jared."

And regardless of all that, evidently there was a concealed-carrying "Good Samaritan" who tried to intervene  and lost his life [UPDATE: There's some confusion on this. See comment below.]. No doubt the antis will seize on that to make their case, ignoring that having a gun has never been a guarantee of 100 % success -- otherwise, making it home at the end of their shift would never be a factor in"Only Ones" responses. And the case can be made that anticipating a GFZ is a factor in choosing perceived soft targets.

Curious and telling, how no one who says requiring disarmament makes everyone safer wants to sign one of these:

CLARIFICATION UPDATE:
A shopper who tried to stop the robbery was killed by gunfire. Another bystander who is licensed to carry a concealed weapon shot and wounded one of the suspects.
ANOTHER UPDATE: The mall isn't posted.
