Terrorpunk

My band is called “terrorists” by democraticunderground.com [More]
What, the cybercommies don't really support free speech?

They run like little informants to the polizei?

Huh. I didn't hear an actionable threat.

Incidentally, I owe Michael Dean a book review. It's just that I had other books in the queue, like this one, and wanted to submit them to the magazine, which has lead times of months.

Which also explains why you haven't heard much from me on Matt Bracken's latest.

I expect to remedy both obligations in the next few days--although it won't appear in print for a while, I intend to say something about all three of these books after I submit them to the mag.

Did I mention words like "excellent" and "you owe it to yourself to read all of these"?

Fighting the Swarm

I just received the following forwarded email:
Fwd: 50% off on receivers from KT
From: Gary Marbut-MSSA

Dear MSSA Friends,

Rick, owner of KT Ordnance in Dillon, needs to raise funds to pay off legal bills from when he was harassed by the BATFE (no charges were ever filed).

To raise funds, he's selling his 80% receivers at a 50% discount. 80% receivers are incomplete, so they are not regulated as "firearms." You would have to drill some holes or do some other machine work to finish these receivers, then add other parts such as barrels and lockwork to make a working firearm. You may finish these only for yourself, but it is not legal (as I understand it) to resell these or to, without a federal manufacturer's license, be in the business of making and selling finished firearms. If you buy for cash, there is no paper trail on these receivers.

See Rick's Website or Google "80% firearms" to learn more about the legalities and process for turning these 80% receivers into working firearms. Call Rick if you have any questions.

Here is Rick's offer:

==================

KT Ordnance is running a special on all our 80% receivers (less the P-50) of 1/2 price. We have 1911's, AR-15's AR-10's and MK-1's.

Use promotional code: "Molon Labe" to receive your 50% discount.

At these prices, buy one for a Christmas present for the "tinkerer" you know. You can never have too many firearms. ;-)

You can order here:

Or mail in your order (address below).

Thank you.

Derailing the Antis

Amtrak's Chairman of the Board Thomas C. Carper and Dick Durbin (D, Mordor), felt the need to conduct a public panty-wetting, to which Bruce Krafft responds:
Okay, so what AmTrack and Dick are saying is that passengers' checked baggage is subject to being "lost, damaged, stolen or misused"? You can't have it both ways boys, if your baggage security is inadequate then knowingly operating a system where your customers' personal possessions, that they have entrusted to your care, are subject to rifling by your employees?

This doesn't even address the other security issue, that if you can't safeguard checked guns, how can you keep out checked *bombs*?
The answer, of course, is all they're really capable of doing is harassing those inclined to obey the laws.

We're the Only Ones Following Protocol Enough

I love how the "Only Ones" always charge the victims of their brutality with "assaulting a police officer."

I think if I were on a jury, I might be inclined not to believe it just based on an anecdotal preponderance of evidence...

But here's the real central point of this story:
The jury determined that the two deputies violated Kimberly Jones's constitutional rights, even though they followed sheriff's department protocol...The sheriff's department's training and procedures are such that if you follow them, you will violate the rights of citizens."
Again with "protocol." If it's officially sanctioned, but against the supreme law of the land, that is, illegal, doesn't that make it a conspiracy to deny a citizen their rights under color of authority?

If all hell breaks loose to where the scenario you describe becomes possible, I'd look to incidents in the recent past to see the most likely way they'd unfold--and who you'd need a gun to defend yourself against.

We're the Only Ones Until Death Do Us Part Enough

A Detroit Police officer was on her way to report a domestic dispute Tuesday morning when her husband, a Detroit homicide detective, fatally shot her in a library parking lot before turning the gun on himself, police said. [More]
I really don't mean to be cruel here. But I would be remiss if I didn't point out this is a prime example of cops NOT being the "Only Ones" we can trust with guns.

NV Senate Candidate Robin Titus Answers Gun Rights Questionnaire

Another contender for the Nevada Senate seat currently occupied by Harry Reid has answered the political questionnaire on gun rights: Robin L. Titus, MD. This makes four contenders in this race who deemed it important enough an issue to provide unequivocal answers to specific questions. In addition to Dr. Titus, we've seen excellent responses from Danny Tarkanian, Sharron Angle and Bill Parson. [More]
This morning's Gun Rights Examiner column demonstrates how the concept of this questionnaire can be used as a force multiplier.

This Day in History: September 23

September 23, 1777 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Occupation of Philadelphia) - Gen. Charles Cornwallis, marching in with 4 British and 2 Hessian units, took possession of the city of Philadelphia to the acclaim of Loyalist supporters. The main body of his army encamped at Germantown. Gen. George Washington moved from Pott's Grove to encamp at Pennybacker's Mill (Schwenksville) on the Perkiomen River. He was not deeply dispirited by the loss of Philadelphia and concentrated his energies on restoring his troops. [More]

Mike Noland's Security Blanket

I can get away with this here at WarOnGuns because it is parody, fair use, and a not-for-profit exercise in free political speech.

I probably couldn't post it here.

Perhaps we ought to start referring to Mike Noland as either "Linus" or "The Great Pumpkin" and see if we can spread it around enough to where it sticks. If anyone deserves to be ridiculed, it's this...uh...thumbsucker.

IL Government Advice for Stalked Women: Clutch a Security Blanket

Let's recap on the official position of the state of Illinois for women who want to defend themselves:

Vomit.

Surrender.

Scream.

And now you offer them the option to pull a blanket over their heads and hope the monsters won't get them? [More]
I put out a second Gun Rights Examiner column today to address a prime example of outrageous, insulting hypocrisy from the tyrants who run Illinois.

We're the Only Ones with a Forceful Presence Enough

Officers from at least four police departments surrounded federal agent James Sirbaugh in Bridgeport Thursday after his presence in Belmont County forced the lockdown of the entire St. Clairsville-Richland City School District. [More]
Be nice if there was a local police response every time a BATFU thug entered our communities. It would be nicer if that response wasn't limited to "Only Ones."

A True Alternative?

Really?

I didn't see a contact form or edress on his campaign website, so I went to his "Get Involved" form and when they asked "what kind of tasks [I'd] like to volunteer for," entered:
I'd like to volunteer to determine if Dave Yost really is a "true alternative" for "Friends of the Second Amendment." To that end, I've got some questions designed to evoke unequivocal answers to determine this. I intend to share his response--or lack of one--with my readers.
Then I asked my questions.

We shall see.

This Day in History: September 22

The distressed situation of the Army for want of blankets and many necessary articles of Clothing, is truly deplorable; and must inevitably be destructive to it, unless a speedy remedy be applied. Without a better supply than they at present have, it will be impossible for the Men to support the fatigues of the campaign in the further progress of the approaching inclement season. This you well know to be a Melancholy truth. [More]

Darren Yancy Answers Gun Rights Questionnaire

We've seen two Republican contenders for Chet Edwards' 17th Texas Congressional District seat respond to the Gun Rights Questionnaire. A third has also responded, and, unlike his rivals, provided the specific answers requested: Darren Yancy. [More]
I posted a third Gun Rights Examiner column because I finally got someone from the 17th District Congressional race in Texas who would answer the questions instead of giving me boilerplate.

Chuck Wilson Responds to Gun Rights Questionnaire

Reader reaction to what they perceived as non-responsiveness did not appear to help Mr. Curnock's cause. But he's not the only candidate in the 17th. I also approached Chuck Wilson...[More]

We're the Only Ones Making Ourselves at Home Enough

Four former members of a now-disbanded Chicago police unit admitted Friday to taking part in a brazen scheme in which they barged into homes and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from suspected drug dealers and others — once after withholding insulin from a diabetic man until he told them where to find the cash. [More]

Cutting to the Chase

Or more like cutting the chase altogether. Even foot chases. [More]

Can't risk our "Only Ones" getting hurt. It's not like we have any obligation to protect you.

What an idiot. What an incompetent.

The crime index in Wellford for 2007 was 470.8, compared to a U.S. average of 320.9 (per 100,000). Officers per 1,000 residents was 1.82 compared to the 3.0 U.S. city average. Their incomes are lower than the state average, as are their property values...

But an incident requiring a pursuit can never happen in Wellford.

Now if she really wants to save the taxpayers some money...

Be an interesting "Twilight Zone" twist to have someone chasing her shrieking ass, and watch the observing cops just sit back and take another sip of coffee because they're forbidden to run after anyone.
