Gun Problem in U.S. Needs Compromise

First off, the you'll-take-my-guns-over-my-dead-body group has to give a little.
Over my dead body, you ignorant little girl.

Yeah, I really dig that" everybody needs to give a little".Although I could be accused of being a Christian, I think Darwin has some points. So if some one wants to kill themselves, let them do it.I don't make guests stay at a party because I'm still having fun. And if sugar britches wants a gun control utopia, I say, you first, sweet cheeks. Just one hitch. I ain't coming with you. You lock up your guns unloaded, but when that 300 lb. serial rapist comes through at 2am, don't bug me,ya hear? Dat goes for the govt. inspection pukes, probably from ATF(All The Fruit) who will make sure you comply, and then seize the guns somewhere down the road, and you're out hoeing down weeds in some collective where you're nice and safe until the sun goes down. Want to stop the violence? EXECUTE THE PERPETRATORS ONE DAY AFTER CONVICTION. Want to cut the suicide rate? STOP WORKING FOR A SENSITIVE USA WHERE MEN CAN'T BE MEN AND KILL THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY HATE THEMSELVES.

"If you must have a gun, do it right."

"Get the papers, take the classes, keep it unloaded..."

Oh, so now you're expert on on firearms law, safety, etc.? Have you ever even picked up a real firearm?

It amazes me how people run their mouths on subjects in which they don't have a clue (not just firearms). People like this lose all credibility in the first 3 seconds of spewing their non-solicited opinion.

Did anyone notic how she trotted out the Kellerman study? This guy's methodology has been repeatedly debunked as bad science.

I sent the author of the editorial this message:
--------------------
Dear Ms. Waldrop,

I have just read your editorial and am concerned that you are misinformed about the issue. You based some of your assertions on a study by Arthur Kellerman. Kellerman's study has been shown to be designed to illicit a desired response and was based on erroneous statistical methods.

The group "Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Inc." have done a careful and through analysis of Kellerman's study their analysis can be seen here http://www.jpfo.org/doctors-epidemic.htm

While you may expect a group called "Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Inc." to incapable of giving a thoughtful analysis of Kellerman's study this is not at all the case. The analysis is rigorous and logical in its approach.

Another debunking of Kellerman's work was done by Dr. Miguel A. Faria, editor in chief of The Medical Sentinel of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons. His analysis can be seen here http://www.thenewamerican.com/tna/1996/vo12no20/vo12no20_guns.htm

I urge you to consider that it is possible that you assumed the validity of the "statistics" from Kellerman because you agreed with the ideals of gun control and not because of the quality of Kellerman's work. You should know that because of the misstatements and poor methodology in Kellerman's study Congress withdrew the $2.6 million dollars budgeted based on the study.

Whether or not you agree with the idea of private gun ownership, it is irresponsible to underscore your argument in a public forum with bad science.

I would welcome your response on this issue.

Wonder if I'll get a reply?

Excellent letter, 1894c!

These cretins always ask us to give up a little less of what we have than they want us to give up, and accept a little less of what they don't have than they really want, and call it "compromise". Well, it's not! Compromise means both sides give up something to get something else that is more desireable. But with the gun grabbers, it's always a net gain for them, and a net loss for us.

So, Ms. Waldrop, WE WILL NOT "COMPROMISE"! As David Codrea said, "Over my dead body!" I add, "preferably, over yours!"

This was my posting to feedback on this article to this so called reporter turned "firearm scholar" ...(hope the formatting turns out ok)

You completely overlook the violent crime rates that have
risen since other countries have banned or heavily
restricted personal firearms. Keep in mind that criminals
(by their very definition) do NOT obey the law, so laws
passed to restrict or limit firearms will NOT affect them
or their illegal acts. Such laws will only affect the
already law abiding.

Also, the second amendment forbids ANY laws that prohibit
or restrict firearm ownership. If you have problems with
the second amendment, a God-given right that protects
your ability to write YOUR OPINION (1st amendment). I
would then invite you to move elsewhere where you will
not have the protected rights that we enjoy here in
America.

Well, it seems her indoctrination as a "journalist" is proceeding apace.

It seems we have taken her to task and our posts have been accepted. If anyone gets a personal response, let us know.

I had to post feedback to the piece. I told her we all ready HAD a national standardization of gun control laws - as she suggested - it is the Second Amendment, which applies to the states through the 14th.

All the Bill of Rights for all the people. Simple, no?
