Indeed, why the gun retailers should voluntarily cede there is anything wrong with their lawful activity, particularly to someone who has made no secret throughout his political career of wanting to criminalize a major portion of their business, makes their voluntary compliance with the wishes of someone who wants to make it involuntary is problematic. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner analysis notes the only way to deal with enemies is to repel them, not treat with them.

Schumer calls for gun sale halt as wavering gun ‘allies’ float concessions
The Ban Wagon
Jeff Knox tells us about those who would take us for a ride--whether we want to go on their one-way trip or not. [Read]
Some Day My Prints Will Come
Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will propose fingerprinting for gun owners in his state ... [More]I'll give ya a fingerprint, Marty.
Guess which one?
Andrea Shea King Show
She'll be interviewing Ben Shapiro about his Piers Morgan interview. [More]
He handled the guy well, totally outclassed him in terms of conduct. I would like to question him about what he means by "better screening for mental illness ... better background checks," why he supports the removal of automatic weapons from the marketplace as "a good start," and why he wants to allow for a federal registration list. I read that, and I question whether it was the Brit who "got owned."
I want the antithesis to the doctrinaire gungrabbers to be a confirmed SNBIer, otherwise, the debate is all to the left of us and our voices aren't heard.

Sins of Omission
What the "Authorized Journalists" don't want you to see is often a more important story than the one they're sticking in your face. [Read]

Interesting, posting odds of them getting out of committee and then being passed. I need to find out if that's based on feel or formula.
Also make sure you check out the latest from the GREs.

But that's OK--now that the government's on it's way in, things'll get back to normal soon enough.

I Can Really Only Think of One
And that would be NO guns on campus. [Read]
You can only read a teaser for this article without registering (people pay for this crap?), but I'll tell you right now you aren't missing much.
Did somebody leave the cage unlatched and let the Junior Authorized Journalists get loose again?
UPDATE: Workman weighs in.

Simplification
Any person in Colorado who wants to sell a gun to someone else should be able to call the state and give the name and birth date of the person trying to buy the gun. The seller would get a simple yes no answer from the CBI as to whether the buyer is prohibited from buying the firearm. The seller could take it from there. Federal and state laws already forbid knowingly selling a firearm to a person who is legally disqualified from buying one. Other information, regarding the make and model of the weapon, has no bearing on the buyer’s qualification.
The state-operated NICS system should be available by phone to any citizen, and not just federally licensed dealers, if we want to screen all gun sales. It must require no paperwork on the part of the seller. It need not ask for the seller’s identity or information on the firearm. It must be truly instant, so that law-abiding citizens who want to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals can do so with minimal barriers. [More]So there will be no registration lists to abuse? Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?
Oh.
A Blunt Assessment
“I intend to spend most of my personal energy on looking at the real gaps in the mental health system and the notification system,” Blunt, R-Mo., told reporters recently. [More]But that's just crazy unless you're also going to guarantee genuine due process and restoration provisions instead of just throwing out another blanket dragnet (albeit, it's perfectly in line with where the industry and NRA are trying to steer legislative efforts).
Jeez, Roy, why not spend most of your personal energy on, oh, I don't know, let me just throw this out there, ENDING GUN FREE ZONES or something...?
We're the Only Ones Forging Ahead Enough
Steven Johnson, 49, of Northeast Philadelphia, a former SEPTA police lieutenant who later worked for the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office, was charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery, and related offenses. [More]There's nothing quite like on-the-job training...
"Authorized Journalist" Jr.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the case and no charges have been filed at this time. Officers are checking to see if the two men had licenses for the weapons involved, a .20 mm rifle and .9 mm pistol. [More]What, you mean those licenses that aren't required by the state of Mississippi?
And those are some interesting calibers.
I guess he can be forgiven because I see from his info blurb at the bottom of the story that he's part of their cub reporter program. Still, it does make one wonder about the quality of adult supervision.
Hey, I've got a slogan for them: "Training tomorrow's Authorized Journalists today!"
Now all they need to do is get their application link to work better than their mentors.
An Easy Question
Did the Turks, Soviets or Nazis treat their despised minorities better, or worse, after disarming them? Think! [More]Let's ask the "progressive" mob that backs this, shall we?
Rats in the Maze
So if we push the right button, does a food pellet get dispensed instead of a shock? [More]
This is one of the more stupid, expensive and defeatable ideas I've seen. No wonder the talking head "Authorized Journalists" are wetting their panties in approval, and the rope-selling economic fascist is licking his chops at the prospect of government contracts.
