SOF BOD Picks

I would need to find out where every one of these picks stands on the danger a "pathway to citizenship" poses to the legislative and judicial future of RKBA, because if NRA continues to refuse to even acknowledge, let alone score it, forget them as avenues that will remain open to us.  Show me a credible poll that says otherwise. [More]

Seeing David Keene endorsed does not fill me with hope, as his "American Conservative Union" supported the Rubio sellout.

Mapping the Left

This one is limited to sourcing relationships and support in North Carolina, but it's a great idea that's needed everywhere. [More]

Powerful New York gun ban politician arrested for bribery, kickbacks

As such, Silver has been a leading proponent of “gun control” throughout his terms of office, including being a driving force behind passing Governor Andrew Cuomo’s “SAFE” Act. In 2012, Silver pushed through a package of bills after the Sandy Hook killings, using that as the springboard to enact legislation that had failed to be enacted in prior years, including microstamping, gun locks and “closing loopholes.” He stated his post-Newtown goal flatly, to impose “a complete ban on assault weapons.” [More]
Oh look. Another Bloomberg ally who wants to disarm Americans is charged with massive corruption.  What purpose could organized criminals possibly have in wanting to disarm you and me? And what kind of idiot willingly gives such creatures power?

"Progressive" Government

The supposed whole purpose of government is to protect life, liberty and property from those who would unjustly deprive you of them. If it doesn't do that, who needs 'em? So noting every day is Opposite Day for "progressives," we see their purpose is to endanger all three, and actually threaten such deprivation if you don't obey. [More]

Are you a member of OPAEPS?

One Percent Against Egalitarian Power-Sharing...? [More]

What?  You don't qualify for the exclusive club, and the only way you're likely to get in is through the servants' entrance?  As a matter of fact, you belong to the very unwashed masses they're trying to oppress?

Kind of makes you wonder what kind of non-elite "progressive" idiot (but I repeat myself) would not only fall for that, but do so with fervor.

Persona Non Grata in Sorosland

Mack H brought this to my attention, noting a conspicuous absence. [More

I believe it is intentional. Their target is already known  in the mainstream and outside of activist circles -- why put my name out there and give me wider visibility? From their point of view, that would make no sense. Best if I remain unknown -- should that ever change, they'll decide it makes sense to attack.

From the Front Lines of the Gulf War

So named because of this...
As indicated in other posts, I will weigh in on this, but it will probably be a few days. Right now I'm dealing with other priorities and catch-up after my trip to Richmond, and I want to put much thought into what I want to say and how I want to say it.  My suggestion is to keep up with what's being said at Dave and Mike's respective sites, because those will be the sources I intend to use.

Tackling the Solution, Not the Problem

Another guy who blames the gun, and not the actions of the person with one... [More]

The incident lends itself to a discussion on the need to keep concealed carry discreet, and then on the value open carry can have on "normalizing" the sight of armed citizens.  It also shows that no one is immune to a surprise attack when they don't know they are being targeted -- even had the armed victim here been in "condition yellow," the circumstances shown in the video make it unlikely he'd have had time to defend himself, and based on the motives of the attacker and the ultimate outcome, he's probably relieved he did not respond with lethal force.

The Last House on of the Left

Neighbors had been pleading with town officials to tear down the house of the mass murderer, with one resident saying it's "a constant reminder of the evil that resided there." [More]
Blaming an inanimate object ... why that's certainly never been done before.

I can understand a decision to raze the place based on marketing factors that acknowledge feelings among many buyers no doubt make it unlikely the property will sell, or now that the city "owns" it, using the land in some other productive manner consistent with zoning ordinances others in the neighborhood are compelled to comply with. But this sentiment that the house itself is evil -- that smacks of government by superstition, which I suppose is as good a definition of "progressivism" as any.

Colorado Bills

House Bill 1127, introduced by state Representative Gordon Klingenshmitt (R-15), would grant immunity from civil liability to places of business which recognize your right to protection and self-defense by respecting your right to carry concealed on the property... In addition, three bills which are vital to protecting your Second Amendment rights have been scheduled for their respective committee hearings in early February. [More]
If you're from Colorado, don't you think you ought to be fully versed and activated on these?

This Day in History: January 22

The Action of 22 January 1783 was a single ship action fought off the Chesapeake Bay during the American War of Independence. The British frigate HMS Hussar under the command of Thomas McNamara Russell captured the French frigate Sybille under the command of Kergariou-Locmaria. The circumstances of the battle included controversial violations of accepted rules of war regarding the flying of false flags and distress signals. [More]
