Gun-Grabbers Keep Pushing Deception Masked as Settled Truth

For starters, “ownership” is a legal and moral term. There can be a big difference between a gun “possessor” and a gun “owner,” and a huge difference in terms of how the two groups behave... While the “reports” will start out talking “gun deaths” to sway the headline surfers and the reading-challenged, it turns out what’s really being highlighted are “rates.” And those hardly reflect real numbers to show where more people are being murdered by criminals with guns they obtained illegally. My latest JPFO Alert notes the lies just keep on coming. And if we want people to know, it's up to you and me to tell them.

Grassley puts hold on judicial nominee involved in Dobyns case

“[B]efore we vote on the Davidson nomination, I wanted to note that recently unsealed court documents in the case of Dobyns v. United States have prompted some questions that need to be answered,” Grassley commented. [More]
This evening's Gun Rights Examiner report notes a significant development in a story that most of Big Boy Media doesn't think is news. The parallels with this and Fast and Furious are almost eerie in terms of what that took to get noticed.

Saturday rally to illustrate new paradigm in gun rights advocacy

The thing is, what I think, or what you think is a moot point as far as Saturday’s planned actions are concerned. Regardless of sentiments, fears, cautions and warnings, it’s “Game on,” and the activists will not be deterred. This is the new paradigm all of us, but especially the "gun groups," need to get used to, because it effectively nullifies any "compromises" some may be inclined to agree to. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes defiance that makes enforcement problematic has the potential to completely change the game. Like it or not, we may just be entering the next phase.

We're the Only Ones "You AND Your Little Dog" Enough

Tragically, the shots he heard came from an Officer Joseph Pitts, the first to arrive on the scene. He had just shot and killed Davis' three-legged dog, Tooter. Three witnesses all claim the officer never announced his presence or identified himself as a policeman. Upon entering the room, Davis was shot, twice, by Officer Pitts. [More]
Dial 911 and die.  They not only have no duty to protect you, when they kill you, there always seems to be a handy "following department protocol/wanted to get home at the end of his shift" absolution rationale.

A BILL FOR AN ACT CONCERNING PERMITTING THE CARRYING OF CONCEALED HANDGUNS ON PUBLIC ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL PROPERTIES. [More]
I guess I'm getting jaded about legislation the sponsors know will go nowhere dealing with an area they really have no moral or lawful say in. Yeah, I understand the author is in there swinging, but there's a growing movement that's getting sick and damned tired of all the posturing and games, while rights we clearly understand are ours are being denied by self-serving oathbreakers, and citizens are being intimidated and punished for exercising them.

Some people are through asking. They're going to start taking back.  Like it or not.

Surprisingly, we do have some common ground on guns, at least with what he's revealed so far. But anyone who would deny fundamental rights based on ideologies, as opposed to actions that actually victimize, is not to be trusted.

Here's a telling quote:
“Of course it could, but I don’t control life off campus...”
But in his little corner he presumes to control life. I guess it goes with being used to instant obedience. That must be why he's not too worried if his demands may affect men who formerly served under him.

I see he's got all kinds of awards and decorations. I seem to recall another high-ranking military hero who turned to the dark side.

This Day in History: February 6

If Historiographers should be hardy enough to fill the page of History with the advantages that have been gained with unequal numbers (on the part of America) in the course of this contest, & attempt to relate the distressing circumstances under which they have been obtained, it is more than probable that Posterity will bestow on their labors the epithet & marks of fiction for it will not be believed that such a force as Great Britain has employed for eight years in this Country could be baffled in their plan of Subjugating it by numbers infinitely less—composed of Men often times half starved—always in Rags—without pay—& experiencing, at times, every Species of distress which human nature is capable of undergoing.
