Armed and Safe has the latest, including a copy of the ordinance.
If writing the law to suit yourself isn't naked tyranny, I don't know what is.
I hesitate to say any more, because I just submitted a column on this to GUNS Magazine, so go read what 45superman has to say--he covers it well and then some, including alerting us to another "Only Ones" exemption proposal.
If I were an Illinois gun owner, I would be pressing organizations claiming to represent me to file a freedom of information demand for copies of all correspondence from Chicago gun owners who told the city they were in the same predicament as Richard Mell. Conveniently I notice he mentioned he was called, so perhaps phone logs could be included at as well. You could do it in a way to protect their identities, and use it to validate that the city has been "inundated" and the new law will benefit "thousands."
Hell, I'd think a quick audit of police records for how many have not renewed during the designated time period ought to give a good quick 'n dirty snapshot, once you factor in people who moved or died--but then again, maybe not, because who in their right mind would play along with this evil game?

We're the Only Ones Heil...uh...Hailing Enough
POLICE Association chief Paul Mullett says a decision by force command to give officers semi-automatic weapons is a victory for common sense.
See, when placed in the capable and trustworthy hands of "The Only Ones," these horrific weapons of war/bullet hoses/killing machines are magically transmuted into benign "patrol pistols."
We need to keep an eye out for when the semiautos are finally distributed--and start a pool to see who can come the closest to predicting when we will read an "Authorized Journalist" report about Victorian police officers with the words "the gun went off."
We're the Only Ones Working for Tips Enough
A former Indianapolis police officer has been sentenced to four months in a community corrections center for tipping off suspects in a federal drug investigation.Four months? For an "Only One"?
Why that's outrageous!
He should have kicked a dog instead--he'd have been reinstated with pay.

We're the Only Ones Reinstated Enough
A judge has ruled that the Highway Patrol trooper who was fired for abusing his police dog should be reinstated with back pay.Remember?
Congratulations, Administrative Law Judge Fred Morrison. Thanks to your ruling, NC "Only Ones" now know they can get their kicks and they'll have a pal on the bench.
This ought to be an object lesson for anyone pulled over by the NC Highway Patrol in terms of the type of conduct that is condoned by the judicial system there. It might make one think twice about consenting to be placed under control--particularly if the demeanor of the trooper indicates he intends to treat you like a dog.

The Grimm and Evil Show
Fred Grimm thinks agents of the state should be "The Only Ones" to possess "guns designed to kill enemy soldiers."
Talk about evil.
How nice for you, Fred. Here, put this in and go quiver in a corner, will you? There's a dear...
Warner Todd Huston took the time to do some point-by-point deconstruction of Grimm's screed.

We're the Only Ones With Kids' Balls Enough
The kids’ balls “were always banging his cars"......certainly brought a unique "Only Ones'" perspective to dealing with neighborhood disputes...

Can McClintock Count on CA Grassroots?
From Tom McClintock:
You can say that again.
For some reason that strikes me like getting noticed by the Eye of Sauron.
McClintock's opponent spent $4.5 million in the primary, and his campaign is still $50,000 in debt.
California gun owners--what are you doing about this? What have you done so far?
Take a look at this anemic Google blog search.
Why don't we find a hot and current McClintock thread happening here? Why no prominent mention here? Can anybody explain why this is?
Yes, McClintock has been endorsed by NRA and GOA, and that's important--but the point being, now it's time for grassroots to take those endorsements and muster troops and resources with them. His place (particularly with the democrat machine focusing on him) will not be secured by a top down pronouncement, but rather by committed personal involvement. There should be a highly visible and proactive plan for gun owner support in place, prominent promotional features, articles and event calendars on California RKBA websites, and discussion and coordination of support activities taking place in CA gun forums. There should be an ongoing coordinated effort to solicit funds, recruit campaign volunteers, encourage letters to editors (with talking points), you name it...
People won't follow if finding leadership is this difficult.
In the mean time, go here and do what you can. And if you're currently actively working on mobilizing gun owners to elect McClintock, share that with us here. Let me know what you're doing, your successes, your challenges, and how WoG can help publicize your efforts.
Let's work to change this result right now:
"Freedom and Firearms" by Tom McClintock
This election has been watched across the country as a bellwether over the future direction of our party - and ultimately of our nation.
You can say that again.

A Market Intervention
California would not care if you ceased to exist tomorrow, and the fact that you giddily make guns for the gun banners intent on your destruction has everyone laughing at you, not with you.Ken Hanson takes a gun manufacturer to task.
And just to make sure the lesson is not lost, L. Neil Smith drags them to the woodshed.
So I guess this means the commemorative "Always Think Forfeiture" pistols are out...?

The guest speaker will be U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts and acting director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Michael Sullivan.I can't decide what music I want playing in the background while I read this story.

This Day in History: June 6
The junction of Beaver and Broad Streets was the scene of an extraordinary incident, June 6, 1775, in honor of which a handsome plate has been erected at the northwest corner of these streets, bearing the following legend:
