We're the Only Ones Testing Enough

The scene is designed to be dramatic, and it is. But it is also illegal under Iowa law. [More]
Cue the prosecution in 3...2...1...

No?

The Bystander

A walker-by trips over the ankle of a man sitting on a bench outside a pet shop. Harsh words are exchanged and a fist fight ensues. A bystander witnesses the struggle and calls 911. Feeling that the fight will result in serious injury, the bystander draws his concealed pistol. [More]

Something's Missing, But What?

Oh, yeah, any reference to laws requiring "smart guns."... [More]

I'm sure it's just an oversight. After all, if we can't trust Mother Jones on honest gun reporting, who can we trust?

Counter Intelligence

The guy ponders for 20 minutes, musing about the danger of nighttime intruders entering his house from an adjacent golf course, and then buys one. [More]
Right, like that's the only possible way he could ever be in danger, right, smart @$$ Bloomberg lickspittle?

There's an old legend that a vampire can't cross your threshold unless you invite him in. I don't why a gun store wouldn't tell a Bloomberg reporter to get lost. Are they really that oblivious that they think the guy isn't looking to do a hit piece?

And then there's this:
Like many FFL holders, Hopkins would have no objection to universal background checks for all gun transfers.
Anyone in the business who's not leading in the fight against universal registration, especially now in the time of great need, and actually telling that to a Bloomberg reporter, deserves to have his business go belly-up as far as I'm concerned. And the FFLs who look forward to it as a new business opportunity are no better than damn kapos.

I've told the Nevada folks they ought to have a list of who in the business isn't helping.  I don't see them taking off the gloves though, and that's a shame, because this bar fight calls for swinging chairs and breaking bottles.

We're the Only Ones Undocumented Enough

Sources tell us an investigator with the prosecutor’s office was cleaning his weapon during office hours when it accidentally went off. The incident was never reported to Honolulu police or the state sheriff’s office. [More]
From the same fine folks who would destroy your life if they caught you carrying in "May Not Issue" Hawaii:

What is it about prosecutors and office NDs?

[I can't find who sent me this]

Kosher Questions

If guns are not important and nobody should have a gun to protect himself, why does Bloomberg have 12 bodyguards? Why doesn’t he stand there with 12 rabbis? Why do they have guns? Instead of guns they should have pastrami sandwiches. [More]
It's OK. Jackie Mason said it, not Ted Nugent.

That's How

And speaking of insider lick jobs:
[T]hat “Eid Dinner” event was put together by an organization called the American Muslim Council that was founded and headed by a man named Abdurahman Alamoudi. Alamoudi, who is now serving a federal prison term for funding terrorism, was a political mover and shaker with ties to not just the Clinton White House, but later to the George W. Bush White House via Republican lobbyist Grover Norquist.
It's a big club and you ain't in it.

There I go being anti-gun and anti-NRA again...

We're the Only Ones Collecting Enough

He says seven deputy US Marshals showed up at his home with guns and took him to federal court where he had to sign a payment plan for the 29-year-old school loan. [More]
Old man, sign ze papers!

Armed American Radio Redux

Host Mark Walters and I started off talking Jackie Mason and worked our way over to Antonin Scalia. [More]

My recommendation?  It's in there.

Purity Test

“TZP president: Brad Alpert, Jewish; TZP treasurer, Eric Andreason, Jewish; TZP writer, Nicki Kenyon, born in the Soviet Union to a Jewish refusnik family; TZP writer Y.B. ben Avraham … well, to think he’s not Jewish, you’d have to be so deliberately ignorant there’d be no use talking to you.” [More]
Is that "Jewish" enough for ya?

Tangentially-related, there's a state gun rights group where they're thinking about removing my Nugent piece link from its Facebook page, because some members say it doesn't belong, and others are worried that arguing over it creates divisiveness at a time when unity is needed.

That's another form of purity test I can't and won't be bothered with.

I don't do this so we can all agree. If I did, I'd never challenge an NRA grade, I'd be stumping for Grover Norquist and I'd agree with Wayne that the only ones who should have guns in school are the ... uh ... "Only Ones."

If I see something I believe needs addressing, I'm going to address it.  If that pisses some off, so be it.  If I wanted popular approval for what I write, I'd pick a different subject.  And if you don't like it, chances are your browser has a "back" arrow.

Daesh Hunter

Hey, if Michael Moore calls guys like these cowards, that's good enough for me! Right? [More]

“Give me your tired, your poor, your militants yearning to bring the jihad without paying a fee.” [More]
Coming soon, to a Caliphate near you...

The Question of Our Time

Do you really want Donald Trump choosing the next Supreme Court justice(s)? [More]
Asks the guy working with the immigration-loving Cato Institute, who goes on to tell us "Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is a University of Miami School of Law graduate and has a excellent team of legal advisers..."

No mention of what that "pathway to citizenship" will do to "fundamentally transform America," so it must not be important.

In any case, Mr. Pynchon's observation once more proves its relevance.  Donald Trump can't choose, he can only nominate. What happens then in the Senate depends, in large part, on whether a critical mass of the citizenry is serious about doing more than bitching in internet forums or chasing snipe.

Virtual Snipe Hunt

All you need is someone with an unknown motive and a privately-registered website that masks identity to spread hysterical disinformation, such as:

I see "protocol" is misspelled in the scroll. Next you're going to be telling me "Fox News the FB" isn't actually affiliated in any way with Fox News. Funny -- no notice that it's a satire site.

So Obama signed the EO on Friday?

Where?

And how come if I do an image search, this is the primary return, and it's got the same file name as the doctored "Fox News the FB" image?

I bring this up because I see 826 comments under the article so far. That's 826 people distracted from doing something productive and effective, and apparently most are gullible enough to swallow whatever false meme some liar of unknown identity and intent wishes to plant, and then leap to conclusions and spread the disinformation further.

That would be the 19.5K "shares"...

Meanwhile, I see real stories of importance, brought to us by people who work laboriously and painstakingly to expose vital truths, ignored by the media and unnoticed by reactionary snipe hunters who are oblivious to real threats.

And there's another danger, that some misinformed dupe is going to take action.

Yeah, I know, the first image is the real one, the second is what they want you to believe, and I'm the disinfo spreader.

Weird.  I just imagined I heard the devil laughing.

My Sartorial Shame

The author believes himself to be a Hemingway style author with the photo he has at the bottom of this article…Come on, your pro 2A, not like a south Florida Mojito drinker..Plant your butt in some Levis and put a shottie over your shoulder broken open at the range…! [More]
I guess you can't please everybody.  Somebody else once criticized the summer sandals.

But Levis?  Jeez, Jack, if you were better informed on preserving the unalienable right to keep and bear arms, and less obsessed with dressing other men like RINOs trying to con Fudds into voting for them, you’d know better than to give aid and comfort to the enemy.

Looks like Russn8r has some insights into a potential motivator...

We're the Only Ones Out of 'Formation' Enough

Arnold said when he first heard the shots, he wondered if they were inspired by the Super Bowl halftime show. When asked to clarify that comment, he added, “You know, Beyonce’s video.” [More]
