The New York loyalists' open defiance of Clinton's ruling was published in the Royal Gazette of December 30, 1779. It announced that all goods captured by loyalists should become their own property and that rebel prisoners taken by loyalist bands would be exchanged only for loyalists who had been members of their organization. Enlistment in those predatory bands proved nevertheless to be smaller and the bands less helpful than ardent loyalists had predicted and Lord George Germain had hoped. But meanwhile the loyalists were contributing affectively to the British secret service in America under loyalist adjutant general Major Oliver Delancey of New York. [More]

“When did your clients retain you for this action counselor?” “What are your clients’ goals?” While those questions expose the silliness, the followup would deserve punishment: “Are you saying your clients don’t even know you’ve decided to represent them, and have not agreed to be party to this suit?” And of course, “Do we need an interpreter for this case, and what language should that person speak?” The courts no longer entertain such inquiry, no matter how bizarre a case they face. Administration/media collaboration continues Gunwalker misdirection
Here's one sure way to tell if the CYA higher-ups are serious: Will they dare help prosecute their allegedly wayward underlings, and risk them telling what they know? This sure makes Sheriff Trevino sound like an Only One.
Original story here:
Nevermind that this school only opened *5 months ago* and the surrounding land was well know to be used for hunting/shooting grounds.Nevermind that the surrounding property is private property.Nevermind that the people in question were apparently acting irresponsibly.Nevermind that the investigation is still ongoing.
What does this mean for gunowners in Hidalgo County and the rest of Texas? How many locations can you drive to that are NOT within 3 miles of a school?
Perhaps the question that should be asked is: Why are schools being built adjacent to *known* hunting/shooting grounds? This is not a singular instance in Hidalgo County.
Here is the Google Maps link to the property. Note all the undeveloped land around it.

- Chaffetz on Holder: If he can’t handle criticism, ‘time to get another job’

Too bad the major networks and papers have no interest in the story. Ah well, it'll just get reported without them.
Seriously?
I cannot take seriously the people who believe that carrying concealed weapons will make all of us safer. [More]So why should we take seriously someone a predator wouldn't take seriously--someone who would be utterly useless to himself and anyone unfortunate or foolish enough to depend on him for protection?
Sean Sorrentino has pretty good evidence the guy's taking his personal tragic circumstances out on the rest of us. When they do that, my sympathy takes a back seat.
Seems he raised a cowardly, drug-addled predator who committed suicide--without a gun.
So the solution is to make sure those like Sonny Boy can continue to victimize and threaten people's lives.
You know what? I just kicked my remaining sympathy out of the back seat and onto the road.

He Went to Jared!!!
I briefly talked about Jared jewelry store's "No Guns" policy last night with Mark Walters on Armed American Radio and commented I wish I knew someone with the cartooning skills to render this concept better than I'm capable of doing:
Come to think of it, they'd better pray someone like Jared doesn't go to Jared.

New York Times stacks deck so Holder can play race card
Yeah, right. Walked guns have nothing to do with it. Dead law enforcement personnel and dead Mexicans have nothing to do with it--nor do their mourning families. Veteran agents coming forward and risking retaliation and ruin or worse have nothing to do with it. Institutionalized lies and stonewalling have nothing to do with it.Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary notes a familiar meme--and also notes those spreading it have a lot longer reach than Mike and I do. If that suits you fine and you think the "Authorized Journalists" can be trusted to shepherd this story along, do nothing. Otherwise, please take a minute and share the link.
Those pressing for the truth do so because they’re bigoted haters. [More]

American Trigger Sports Network Television hosts gun rights panel and more
I’m getting ready to leave in a few hours for Houston, where I’ll be participating in panel discussions on American Trigger Sports Network Television about gun rights-related issues with host James Towle and fellow panelists Mark Walters of Armed American Radio, Barbara Crown of The Hunting Report, and author/former legislator Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column indicates I'll soon be subjecting myself to the tender ministrations of TSA--assuming I don't find myself on the Domestic Extremist No Fly List.
I also included my ATSNTV Rand Paul interview for those who haven't seen it.

And wtf is "silent lunch"? How is it any less cruel to peer-conscious kids than making them wear a dunce cap, and how does encouraging that meld with all those "anti-bullying" campaigns schools "teach" these days--you know, the ones that punish those who fight back in self-defense along with the aggressors?
Here, James Evans--wash this off and stick it back in. And try to keep it from popping out next time.
And "Mom"--with all the other identifying information in this story, way to go telling the whole damn world you don't have a gun in your house.

A "Reasonable" Alternative
It is, however, reasonable to ask whether deterrents without the potential lethality of firearms might be better suited for college campuses. Encouraging all students to arm themselves with pepper spray, or offering self-defense instruction to all students, might be just as effective in keeping criminals away from college campuses as allowing a fraction — albeit a sizable cohort — of those students to carry concealed weapons. [More]Boy, they were doing their best to sound like they wanted to give all sides credence and then they pulled this horsesh*t.
See, thing is, if those alternatives are "better suited to college campuses," then they're better suited everywhere.
Tell you what, unknown editorialist--why don't we set up a test? You with pepper spray and whatever martial art you've gone to some summary classes on, against a psychotropic drug-addled sociopath with firepower that will take you out from a distance.
Ready, set, GO...

The Frigate the Sensible, is found to be in so bad a Condition, that I am advised by every body to go to France by Land.—The Season, the Roads, the Accommodations for travelling are so unfavourable, that it is not expected I can get to Paris in less than thirty days. But if I were to wait for the Frigate it would probably be much longer. I am determined therefore to make the best of my Way by Land. And it is possible that this Journey may prove of some Service to the Public, at least I hope the Public will sustain no loss by it, though it will be tedious and expensive to me. [More]

Bloomberg online gun sting creates more questions than answers
Which leads us to the jaw-dropping conclusion that criminals don’t obey the law! In Ohio, in Texas, or in New York City.Today's Gun Rights Examiner report looks at another enemy action designed to establish a beachhead from which further incursions can be launched.
Does anyone seriously think an investigator couldn’t make and record street buys there, in spite of all the edicts commanding otherwise? And that Bloomberg’s Finest wouldn’t ruin the life of anyone trying to set up and record a reverse exposé?[More]

It is but just that I should render an account of the conduct of those who have most deserved thanks for bravery in this legion. I take advantage of the occasion and with much pleasure in my capacity of Captain of Volunteers, attached to the suite of General Pulaski to certify that Benjamin Nones has served as a volunteer in my company during the campaign of this year and at the siege of Savannah in Georgia and his behavior under the fire in all the bloody actions we fought have been marked by the bravery and courage which a military man is expected to show for the liberties of his country, and which acts of said Nones gained him the favor and esteem of General Pulaski, as well as that of all the officers who witnessed his daring conduct. The Ash Heap of History
We need to outlaw firearms in the hands of all civilians and start to collect every one of them and melt them down for railroad track. [More]Try it.
Thing is, this hive insect claims to be a descendant of Declaration-signer Josiah Bartlett.
Meaning also he's a descendant of John Bartlett, the guy who hid his gun in a chimney from confiscators only to retrieve it years later and have it used by a grand nephew fighting against tyranny in the War of the Rebellion.

Linda Thorpe, All UnAmerican
Committee chairperson Linda Thorpe added that there are options for a county employee that feels threatened during the course of their duties other than carrying a concealed weapon.OK, Linda, let's try a workplace thought experiment.

Say you're in your office goofing off surfing the Internet and you come across this blog post. Now let's say you hear what sound like gunshots coming from down the hall and people screaming--and the commotion is quickly approaching your door. Now let's say that once what's happening sinks in and you feel the hot knife of terror in your gut, that is, you "feel threatened," you decide to pick up the phone and...oops--too late. He's here.
I'd suggest maybe James Behling could save you, except...oh, for God's sake, James, don't you think your ass sticking out from under your desk while you whimper to be spared is a pretty undignified way to check out?
Too bad Robert Egan and Martha Milanowski won't be any help either.
But at least they knew enough to tell the non-ruminants what to do!
Was walked gun recovered in Mesa shooting?
There’s enough circumstantial evidence to warrant uncovering the truth of the matter, and it’s an important enough puzzle piece to see if it truly fits in the overall picture. Recalling that today is the anniversary of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s murder, reports about other uniformed officers (and indeed, anyone else) being threatened with Fast and Furious weapons need to be looked into. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report hands off a stalled inquiry to those with the clout to get answers.

Mike has been having the dickens of a time with the Blogger template--the "new" look is not intended to be permanent. The problem started with the inability to insert paragraph breaks and it looks like when he started pulling loose threads the whole damn fabric unraveled.
I've tried to help him but it's beyond my clumsy capabilities. His entire publishing tool and dashboard looks completely different from mine.
Be patient.
Anybody know any trustworthy volunteers who could advise him?
