A "Self-Executing Rule"

Think how much trouble that would save...[Read]

GRE Round Up for Mar. 16

There's some good stuff being turned out. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Daniel White/Cleveland:
Mike Stollenwerk/DC:
Pelosi to use Jedi mind trick to pass health care bill

Dan Bidstrup/Denver:
The evil in the gun

Steve D. Jones/Fort Smith:
The discriminatory Arkansas CHL law

Dave Workman/Seattle:
Why confusion reigns in wake of federal court ruling on Seattle lawsuit

Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
Go. Read. And please share the links.
You're doing that, right?

We're the Only Ones Withdrawing Enough

A federal jury has convicted a 22-year veteran of the Conroe Police Department for robbing the First Bank of Conroe... [More]
22 years of being an "Only One"...

Perhaps now he'll learn another "insider's term" when someone yells “BOTTOM DRAWERS!”

It's Just a G@&&@* Piece of Paper!

She believes that domestic violence can be stopped, but says that the law is not doing enough to protect women from "very predictable, very preventable types of violence."[More]
If you can predict it, why wouldn't you take personal measures to prevent it, even if that "law" (which has no obligation to protect you) says you're not allowed to?

Who's responsibility does "expert on domestic violence" Diana Rosenfeld think it is, and if some enraged male with twice her upper body strength decided it was "let's get physical" time, exactly what kind of expertise would she be able to demonstrate?

Yeah, those are pretty expert howls there. And the blubbering, crying, pleading...? First rate! You sure have me convinced you're in absolute terror and agony...

And best of all, no nasty guns that are only designed to kill people...think how that will please Paul Helmke!

Hey, it looks like many of the comment posters "get it"...

Making Us All Look Bad

Anybody know this a$$+@!=?

Thank him.

Perhaps we should borrow from the "Only Ones" playbook and start using that "few bad apples" analogy. Those of you inclined to leave comments on such sites, do remind the readership of all those in uniform who also prove untrustworthy--having that kind of ammo is one of the reasons I maintain the archive.

I wonder if this guy is really what he seems? I want information on him--who is he? Does anybody know him? How long has he been involved, or is he? Any chance this is deliberate?

The_Chef Relights the Stove

Via email:
[A]fter a very long hiatus the Economist's Cookbook is back up and running with new template, new goodies, etc...I'm sure some of what I post will be controversial to some of your readers, but I welcome dissent.
Go on over and see what cooking.

We're the Only Ones Not Feeling Good Enough

"Those weapons have [in the past] been ultimately destroyed," said Don Aaron, police department spokesperson. "This police department just hasn't felt good about putting crime guns back on the streets, back available to the public." [More]
Because everyone knows "crime guns" are imbued with a pure evil that differentiates them from regular guns.

Because the laws we must abide by in order to effect firearm transfers to individuals just aren't exclusive enough to our liking.

Because we can be trusted with them and you can't be.

Because we're the "Only Ones."

Is that about it, Don?

Tell the truth--you don't want anybody not in your clique to have a gun. Otherwise, you'd realize your expressed "concerns" are contradictory nonsense.

Make Would-Be Tea Party Leaders Prove They Support Second Amendment

Perhaps Liberty Central will provide us with the principled leadership the Republic so desperately needs. So let's not automatically assume them to be teajackers (hey, did I just coin a term or has somebody else already used it?). Let's give them a chance to show us what they're made of, at least as far as Amendment II to the Bill of Rights is concerned. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column gives those who would lead us a chance to prove they're something more than establishment GOP infiltrators. Anybody think they'll take it?

Help me elicit an answer by contacting them yourself, and by sharing this link and asking your friends to do likewise?

This Day in History: March 16

Don't show this to the Bradys. They'll claim it proves we only have a right to keep and bear heraldic insignias.
