Gun Owners Should Support Danny Tarkanian for Senate

It's a bigger race. It's one we can win. And if we do, it will topple one of our most powerful politicians and shake the Senate to its core. [More]
Here's that second Gun Rights Examiner column I promised earlier today.

Without hyperbole, we actually have a real shot at toppling the socialist Senate majority leader with this contender--one who took my challenge and gave unequivocal answers to my questionnaire. As far as gun organizations go, I expect one major obstacle: NRA.

I hope some of you see the significance of this. I hope those of you who do see how this will not happen without your active participation and help spreading the word.

Observing who is silent on this one should be interesting. Please don't let it be you.

We're the Only Ones in Hot Pursuit Enough

A Jefferson Parish correctional officer was arrested and suspended Sunday after being involved in what investigators believe to be some sort of domestic disturbance involving a car chase.

Deputies said Officer Edward Elvir was driving a vehicle and chasing another car down Metairie Road. The car being chased crashed into a wall. [More]
So why was the guy being chased cited?

Oh, yeah. "Only Ones." Sorry, Ted, it's a dumb question, skip that.*

Who Do You Trust?

The next moment, a gunshot sounded; and then a Marine was yelling “ND! ND! ND!” — negligent discharge — and Nelson would recall seeing smoke rising from the gun and then all eyes turned to Malone, suddenly slumped in his rack with a bullet hole in his forehead, according to a copy of the investigation report obtained by Marine Corps Times. I can think of better ways to establish trust.

Proof We Don't Need Guns in Wilderness Parks

“His parents, of Rossland, British Columbia, reported a cougar suddenly jumped out of a brushy area onto the boy, who was near his mother on the trail,” said the release. “The mother reportedly fought off the cougar and the parents took the child to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail.” [More]
See? Just fight it off with your hands. And hope that it's not as committed to its goals as you are to yours.

That doesn't mean guns don't have their place, mind you:
[W]ildlife officers must now hunt, and euthanize, the cougar.
That place, evidently, is exclusively in the hands of the "Only Ones."

Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...

Scouts will now be a little worse prepared after they were banned from carrying their traditional penknives due to the fears of those in charge of health and safety. [More]
I don't suppose making anyone with such fears not in charge isn't an option?

And I guess the online store won't be getting much UK traffic?

This guy Dave Budd sounds like a real piece of...uh...work: an anti-knife knifemaker. Seems he was misquoted. Thanks to commentator Chris.

Then there's this from "a Scouts spokesman":
"Scouting helps to prepare young people with valuable life skills, while keeping them safe by not carrying knives."
That's true. You're preparing them for their proper role by teaching them the valuable life skills necessary to be subjects of an Orwellian nanny state.

Hey, what with the multicultural changes in Empire demographics, I wonder if there are any Sikh kids in scouting over there, and if they get a special dispensation...?

Even ATF Employees Fed Up with Corruption and Incompetence

So what can we do--right now--that has a reasonable chance of making headway? Fortunately, there is something--and it comes from what many will consider two unlikely sources. [More]
It's not that I have sympathy for the devil, it's just that this presents an opportunity we can exploit. I'd originally intended this to be a three-part series, with the first on Monday and the second yesterday. It became clear while writing today's column that I'll need to extend this into tomorrow in order to present all the information without making any part of it too long.

Also get the latest from my fellow GREs.

Note: I'll be making a special post later today that could have huge political implications. Really.

This Day in History: September 9

The Enemy advanced towards us Yesterday with a seeming intention of attacking our post near New Port, We waited for them all day, but upon reconnoitering their situation in the Evening, we judged they only meant to amuse us in Front, while they marched by our right flank and gained the Heights of Brandywine.
