The award given to Holder “is presented to an individual whose work and accomplishments stand as a role model for the African-American community and the African Diaspora.”Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes those proclaiming "No justice/no peace" want neither.
Don’t look for that in the original or revised job descriptions. Still, it’s somehow fitting that the phoenix for which his award was named was a mythical creature that rose from the ashes. [More]

Partisan Black Caucus ignores Fast and Furious, honors Holder as 'role model'
Terrifying Alberto
“I reeled in a gun,” Pina said, still hyperventilating...“To pull something like that out of the water is extremely dangerous. I didn’t want my son to see something like that, but he did. Horrible,” Pina said. “When I pulled it up, I dropped it over at the pier. I didn’t dare to touch it.”...“No dinner tonight,” Pina said. “I came here for some striper, not a rifle.” [More]That's quite some role model for a father that boy has. If he can't tell the difference between a handgun and a rifle, perhaps ignorance may have something to do with his case of the vapors?
At least this didn't pop out and get lost at sea...I imagine tuna or dolphins could choke on it or something...
Still, someone ought to tell sonny boy there his daddy [GASP!] KILLS ANIMALS!!!!

Under Surveillance
A friend just sent me a screenshot of fed agencies lurking on his site, with links-aplenty to WarOnGuns.
State and Justice are pretty much daily visitors around here, as well as others like DHS making their presence known. I sometimes wonder if their not trying to hide it is intended as a message, since I've called them on it again and again, and no, I don't think it might be a secret friendly, as I would hope they'd be smart enough to hide their tracks.
Maybe I'm accumulating FEMAPointsTM, to give me valuable discounts on camp essentials...

A Tragic Example
I believe it would be inappropriate for me to put one of my standard titles on something horrible like this, but it still merits being pointed out as yet one more example where police are NOT the "Only Ones" with superior training, skills and judgment. Besides which, it looks like no one is getting any special legal breaks, which is one of the criteria. [Read]
Legal responses aside, I cannot imagine the hell these people will be putting themselves through for the rest of their days. I don't see how anyone could add any punishment that would even register against what I'd be doing to myself.

Only in the Sense that They Got Caught
I’m not convinced that anything was flawed or that the operation failed. [Read]I guess that means we can also dispense with the word "botched"...
The Final Word
The highly critical review likely will be the final word on what went wrong. [More]You keep telling yourselves that.
The Toledo Blade is quite possibly the most punk paper in America.
An Academic Argument
“The Second Amendment does not necessarily state that the right to bear arms allows for massacres and mass shootings," Weisbord said. [More]No, of course not, it doesn't say that at all, you fricking idiot. Why would you make it appear anyone who's not a subversive gungrabber has ever suggested that it does?
French and British academic human disarmament proponents--is there anything they don't know?
The event...is open to the public and entry is free of charge. It's overpriced. Not that they truly want any "roundtable" debate where you can tell these cloistered "intellectuals" to bring it on, what with announcing this two days after reservations were closed.
Diggin' with Dayton
I did three radio interviews his weekend, this one on Saturday morning with Dayton Vaus on TalkRadio 101.1 FM in northwest Florida. [Listen]

We're the Only Ones Going Off Enough
Notice how the "Authorized Journalists" and the cud-chewers they picked to interview all emphasized the fault residing with the person who was not the "Only One" authorized to have the gun--you know, the incompetent moron who pulled the trigger, destroyed property and endangered lives? [Read and watch]
The Window War
But one can’t help feeling it would be character-building for our political classes if a mob were to come around and break their windows now and then. [More]Hey, I know a bit about that.
But for some strange reason, Rachel Maddow and Media Matters never want to talk about it...

We're the Only Ones Doing Our Best Enough
“We did the best surveillance we could do, and a mistake was made,” Lebanon Police Chief Billy Weeks said. “It’s a very severe mistake, a costly mistake. It makes us look at our own policies and procedures to make sure this never occurs again.” He said, however, the two policemen were not at fault. [More]No, naturally. After all, they're giving us their best.
We've seen Billy's best before, when he was "horsing around and...pulled his gun and stuck it to the chest of" Lebanon's "Public Safety Commissioner." Nice to see he's back from "administrative leave."
Can you imagine the deserved treatment we'd get had you or I done that?
I can only wonder if anyone looked at the P&Ps to make sure this never occurs again?
