After a week of a steadily worsening cough to the point that I'd have to fight blacking out (along with plenty of other symptoms), I bit the bullet and went to urgent care yesterday in the hopes of scoring some antibiotics and prescription cough syrup. They checked me into their emergency wing, hooked me up to an IV and ran a battery of tests, including EKG and x-rays.
Pneumonia. They wanted to transfer me to the hospital. I persuaded them to release me and let me self-monitor at home with the promise that if conditions worsen I won't be stupid, so here I am with those antibiotics and that prescription cough syrup I went in for in the first place. There's a whole story about U.S. health care costs, including malpractice-driven overcautiousness in here.
Bottom line -- Drained and struggling to focus though I may be, I've got over a hundred emails waiting for me, most with tip links. I'm not going to get to most of them. And just because I don't do much blogging on weekends doesn't mean there isn't plenty going on behind the scenes. This weekend there wasn't, and I'm in a hole.
My goal today is to prep for tonight's Oath Keepers webinar (
register here) and to get another AmmoLand article done, and to do another article for each by month's end, at which point my GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch" column deadline hits. All without overtaxing myself and getting plenty of rest and fluids.
So if you're one of those who took the time to find a story of interest and send me the link, thank you. Just please understand if I can't get to it and if my priorities over the next few days preclude many tip responses.
