Are You Sleeping, Bourgeoisie?

While no one was paying attention, a 5-3 majority of “woke” Pitt County Commissioners snuck in a prohibition on lawful concealed carry in county offices last month.  [More]

This is why volunteers to keep an eye on local happenings are so critical. The state group is already overburdened, with a handful doing everything.

I also question why the supposedly "assumed" pro-carry Republican was absent, as he had to know the discussion would be a new business agenda item. Perhaps it was something serious he could not help so I don't want to presume judgment, but it's fair to wonder why a warning could not have gone out from him and the other non-communists on the commission.

Because the grabbers like to catch us napping.

Logan's Run

That's an email I got from "Swing Red" asking for donations, offering such meaningless platitudes as:

Each and every dollar raised will go directly to defending President trump’s standing as leader of the Republican Party.

Forget asking "How?" I'm more interested in "Who?" Especially since he didn't capitalize "Trump."

The email has a physical address at the bottom that turns up a recent Staten Island realty listing. Nice digs.

Their website is no help. And Who.Is tells us nothing because everything is "redacted for privacy."

The FEC shows no money activity in its financial summary but we do get a name and address, just not as nice and not on Staten Island. Logan Kyle Russell's got a nothing internet profile (leaving out the middle name helps) and it's just not worth my time or money to buy an online report.

Are there really Republicans who are smart enough to use the internet and dumb enough to fall for this?

My guess is probably, because there's no shortage of idiots who believe Rick Scott and the NRSC and donate not realizing money they think will help advance the Trump agenda also helps Susan Collins'.

They can fight it by demanding court-martial, right? But the incentive is not to?

If a service member refuses an administrative reprimand or NJP, they could demand to be tried at court-martial... If service members are tried and convicted by a court-martial and the punishment triggers an appellate review, the case is brought to the respective branch’s Court of Criminal Appeals, such as the Army Court of Criminal Appeals or the Navy-Marine Court of Criminal Appeals. If they are tried and convicted in the appeals court, the case reaches the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. If a service member is convicted in this court, they would likely receive a dishonorable discharge, a bad-conduct discharge, or, in the case of an officer, a dismissal.

We're Metastasizing!

According to the document, one regional FEO cost the government $21,5000 per FEO per year, minus a leased vehicle, travel cost, and TDY expenses. An FEO at Martinsburg cost the ATF $30,500, with travel cost added into the equation. The cost model with all costs for the pilot programs shows that each FEO will cost the government $104,316 per FEO for one year, which is significantly higher than $30,500. None of these costs include the salaries of the FEOs. [More]
