"Some People Simply Shouldn't Have Guns"

Colleague Karen Harper, the Birmingham Progressive Politics Examiner, talks about the guy who shot another guy at the movies...[More]
Here's another opportunity to win friends and influence people. Go on over to her column (after you read mine, of course) and introduce her readers to the same type of intelligent and persuasive comments I see at WarOnGuns every day.

I've actually had several very cordial and supportive email exchanges with this lady, and have found her to be open-minded on gun rights.

Hey, notice anything different about my logo graphic?

More Gun Talk

Tom Gresham asked me to join him on his nationally-syndicated radio show this Sunday to discuss "doing the 'crystal ball' look at 2009." I'll be on at 1:00 pm Central, so figure it out for your time zone and tune in by clicking on "Listen" on his site.

For those of you who didn't hear it, here's the podcast link for the last time I was on (scroll down to November 2, Part A).

These things are always fun.

Hope and Change

So what does this mean for us as gun owners? Is it all doom and gloom? [More]
"Hope and Change" is my latest Rights Watch column for GUNS Magazine.

Let’s Have a Debate

The debate will be live streamed from www.RNCdebate.org. ATR is hosting the debate and the questions will be those submitted from activists across the nation on the RNCdebate.org website. [More]
I note this appeal is targeted to the "center right."

Let's not let it pass without being heard.

Spread the word on this, OK?

We're the Only Ones Ironic Enough

Police Say Officers Shoot 3 Over New Year Gunfire [More]
Stopping it the "Only Ones" way...

I know, I know, morons like this need to be stopped. Still, the headline struck me as funny...

We're the Only Ones Mystifying Enough

Covina arrests mystify a neighborhood

After two Mexican federal agents and two others were arrested in July on drug-related charges, little has emerged about the case and residents are puzzled. [More]
Gee, nice digs Los Uniqos are living in. I wonder who does their gardening and housekeeping?

I'm not sure why the silence and mystery, except it probably has to do with what we all know is the #1 Mexican crime problem: those damned American gun shows.

Anticipation

U.S. Army War College report warns an economic crisis in the United States could lead to massive civil unrest and the need to call on the military to restore order. [More]
We're seeing more and more of these stories, aren't we? If I were paranoid, I'd start wondering about floating trial balloons and self-fulfilling prophecies...

In light of these recent developments, we may benefit by understanding some of the thinking...

We're the Only Ones Rubbing You the Wrong Way Enough

Police: Deputy rubbed genitals on customers [More]
Well, that certainly took b*lls.

Cocky little "Only One," isn't he?

I wonder if he'll get sacked?

And I do apologize, but good grief...

Emily Latella Award

For "Spider Hole" Greg. [More]

Over salt.

Per Mack H, who asks:
Hey David, you think he would also "reverse one of the city’s most controversial policies" -- the city hall gun ban? After all, "I’m in charge of the city’s response!"

We're the Only Ones Impressing You Enough

Do you need any more evidence that celebrities have become an unofficial American aristocracy? How about the conscription of an innocent bystander to double for paparazzi bait so that the real deal can slip out of an airport unnoticed by the press? [More]
J.D. Tuccille recounts a story that I'd call unbelievable if I didn't have a long history of being jaded by the "Only Ones" outrage du jour.

Actually, I don't know what's more outrageous--a reported act of impromptu conscription, or the fact that our society is trivial-minded enough to where we even know who this Jamie Lynn Spears person is.

This Day in History: January 2

Cornwallis marched toward Trenton to attack Washington with 6,000 men. Washington's troops were in great danger, backed up against the Delaware River. Their saving grace was Cornwallis' decision to wait until the next day to finish the battle. [More]
