Tester shows true regard for gun rights in Post Office bill committee meeting

This is a character who was rated “A” by the National Rifle Association and voted 2011 “Legislator of the Year” by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. He says he believes in the Second Amendment and then says he doesn’t want to allow you to have a gun when you go to buy stamps?

Jon Tester instead sides with Mike Bloomberg and his hysterical Demanding Moms, and the Brady Campaign, and the Violence Policy Center, and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and...? [More]

Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report unearths the startling fact that the Second Amendment is not about gopher huntin’. Now if someone would kindly explain that to this “pro-gun Democrat,” who would evidently rather see his constituents killed than armed at the Post Office...

"More Americans"

I can't get too excited about polls. [More]

For one thing, the way questions are phrased can shape so many assumptions. For the other, it's been my experience that most respondents don't possess sufficient subject matter knowledge to merit serious consideration of their opinions.

Mark Dice proves that all the time.

That said, the upward trending of those who say laws are "too strict" shows some are waking up.

But there sure are a lot of useful idiots out there.

For What It's Worth

From Dave Licht:
I just got off the phone with a spokes idiot at nra ila -

I spoke with an obviously young, female, uninformed, empty spokes vessel.

I indicated I was a life member that was concerned about the nra training police in ca, ny, ma to take guns from their members

she became instantly defensive and claimed she " was unaware of any program wherein they train police to take guns" to which I responded that if they are training police in those states, they were co-operating with a confiscation agenda and her response was........"sir, you're not making any sense" and it went down hill from there

NRA - Completely out of touch in so many ways they aren't even having the same discussion

Absolutely astounding interaction - hostile you might say

For what it's worth
A-yup.

Why hold gun companies accountable for selling to enforcers in states hostile to gun rights, and then regard the people helping train those enforcers as our champions?

I'd love to hear the "logic."

Method Acting

So, if embracing the interests of the criminal classes is demonstrating depraved indifference that is politically inexplicable, why do you do it? Why would you be motivated to go easy on the cons yet so draconian in your attitude to hitherto law-abiding firearm owners. Why the insistence on disarming the populace in the face of a predatory criminal class? The explanation could simply be that as a government functionary in a state that is widely seen as arbitrary and criminally corrupt firearms in hands of people with whom you disagree politically make you nervous. Tyrannical governments being every bit as opportunistic as common criminals and in agreement that unarmed victims are the best victims. It could be that simple I suppose. But the intensity of your True Belief, the absolute sociopathic unconcern demonstrated by your depraved indifference may be no more complicated than your own personal failure -- that big hole in the middle that Doc Holliday ascribed to Johnny Ringo in Tombstone that i quoted in the last letter. By this arrangement it would take 950 men to act on the defensive the whole of the summer Season, the number of Militia in Washington County is said to be 2000, in Westmoreland 1000. The Inhabitants are dispirited, and talk much of making their escape early in the spring to the east Side of the Mountain, unless they see a prospect of support. [More]
