"We Just Want to Know Where They Are."
Of course you do. [Read]
How about "No"?
But then, they'll need something a little more potent than the "Law Abiding Firearms Owners" for that.

Nice Rack
If you're into that sort of thing.
But I'm more interested in what's inside a person. That's why my plan is not to give away any potentially advantageous tactical information, such as where I am and what I'm armed with.
I'd just as soon a home intruder would never even know I was there until he woke up in hell and figured it out.

David - I wanted to alert you to the postponement of tomorrow’s “Firearms in Commerce” hearing. A Defense Appropriations Subcommittee hearing scheduled late Friday, coupled with a cloture vote on the Senate floor, both scheduled for the time this hearing would be underway, have posed multiple scheduling conflicts. I will keep you posted about rescheduling the hearing.
Unbelievable!
I still can't believe the knife I was holding was responsible for all those injuries. [More]Me neither.

Official Sanction
Militias seek official sanction as ‘state defense forces’ [More]Huh. I could swear that's not the first time I've heard someone suggest that they already are or something...

We're the Only Ones Shooting Holes in Stories...and Ourselves?...Enough
"This is the way your clothing would be if you were carrying a gun in your waistband and it went off," a police source said. [More]Paige? Paging Mr. Paige...

NYT on Lead Ammo Ban
I saw their pantie-wringing screed this morning and wasn't going to link to it.
I'll link to John Richardson's deconstruction instead.
Here's what I had to say.
As far as I'm concerned, they can try--if they want to create an entire unregulated metal commodity market in lead. That may be just the free market economic boost some of us could use.
I have more on the lead issue, but I sent it to the editor at GUNS Magazine a few days back for my "Rights Watch" column, and it'll be a few months before its' published.

GO-NH Candidate RKBA Ratings vs. The Gun Rights Questionnaire
Yesterday morning I received the GO-NH voter's guide, in which they've rated candidates on RKBA. Regular readers will recall that I spent 7+ months trying to get candidates to answer the Gun Rights Questionnaire and rating them. Some readers may even recall that GO-NH Prez Kopacz expressed an interest in being provided with the candidates' responses for rating purposes of their own. So much for that idea. I knew there was a problem when GO-NH wouldn't even link to my GRQ project.Carl Bussjaeger explains why he's annoyed. With details.
So I expected to be annoyed when the GO-NH guide came out. I am. [More]
Imagine that. "Pro-gun" candidates avoiding taking an unequivocal stand on the right of the people to keep and bear arms...and being rewarded anyway.
Ha-Ha Funny or Peculiar Funny?
Yet it’s only as the actor/director sits for an interview with the Star, talking about his new TIFF Gala premiere The Conspirator, that he suddenly realizes the irony of being both the pistol-packing Sundance Kid and an outspoken supporter of gun control. Now there's a deep thinker--assuming we believe him.
“It’s funny — that’s the first time it’s ever come to my mind,” said Redford, 74, smiling at the thought. [More]
But who am I to question the more enlightened? After all, when he talks about his new Lincoln assassination movie, he tells us it "is a story that very few, if any, know..."
"If any"?
Breaking news, Bob? There were co-conspirators who were arrested, tried and hanged? Aw, go on...
God, these smug, privileged dilettantes think highly of themselves, don't they? No wonder they see themselves as stewards of social justice and enlightenment for we, the little people.
Funny though, how Hollywood elites treat the help when it's their own interests on the line...
In Part Because
The National Rifle Association has long disputed the common claim that 90 percent of guns used in crimes in Mexico come from the U.S., in part, because of the fact that there are so many guns unaccounted for. [More]No, we dispute it because "the common claim" isn't true. Ain't no "in part" about it. And the only reason it's common is because there's no shortage of useful idiots with megaphones to parrot the meme.
Frightening, how "Authorized Journalists" have the reach to influence so many--even when it's demonstrable they don't know what the hell they're talking about.
Doppelganger
A firearms lobby group is calling for a register to stop what it describes as people unfit to hold firearm licences obtaining them. [More]You mean in addition to the Kapos?
"The National Rifle Association"...? (I suppose the suggestiveness of their url escapes them?)
Man, they sure bear an uncanny resemblance...
Why is anti-gun Mayor Bloomberg backing Harry Reid?
Do we really want to put our faith in a probable lame duck (due to age) "progressive" who has been scorned by "the gun lobby" and patronized by one of its most influential arch enemies? And one who uses an anti-gun "litmus test" for loyalty at that? [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at how the right motivation affects "loyalty"--especially when the desire for power and control over others is a factor.
Or it could be I'm just a bitter cynic, and "progressive" political leaders will not waver from firm principles and their only desire--to selflessly serve their country.
Our most politically influential "gun rights leaders" are gambling on the latter. How about you?
And share the link?

Raid on German Flats, New York
This town, now known as Herkimer, is attacked by Iroquois led by Chief Joseph Brant, who leads a force of 150 Indians and 300 Loyalists. Although the town, consisting of about 70 buildings, is burned to the ground, only 3 individuals die in the engagement. [More]
