Advocacy Piece against Guns Shows Agenda Comes First at Scientific American

The article is garbage and unworthy of a publication that includes the word “Scientific” (or “American”) in its title. [More]
Right. Anybody who disagrees with the monopoly of violence cultists or believes in the right to keep and bear arms is a paranoid racist. It's settled science! Just ask "progressive" sociologists.

Well said.

I checked various tabs on the guy's Facebook page, and he's a supporter of Ted Deutch and belongs to the ACLU of Broward County group, "Justice Democrats" and the like, so we're talking a doctrinaire lefty activist who doesn't seem to find that worth mentioning while he gets promoted as a "normal American" who's had "enough."

We're the Only Ones Uncommunicative Enough

He resigned after The Baltimore Sun asked about three lawsuits from Strange’s five-year career as a Baltimore police officer. Pugh confirmed that she had accepted Strange’s resignation in a statement late Wednesday. The mayor said he was still in the process of being vetted when she announced his hiring. [More]
He didn't tell her beforehand-- and she didn't wait for the background check before sealing the deal? It figures an Opposite Day "progressive" communications professional would get hung up on... well here, let Strother explain:

Norway wants to ban semi-autos, the media lies about stats in the UK and Germany, and Brussels intends to reign supreme on disarmament.

Commies Always Were Historical Revisionists

Some of the members of the Florida Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) are very anti-gun and they are proposing and pushing gun ban and gun control amendments to put in the Florida Constitution. [More]
It would help if there was some indication of which commissioners are enemies and which are approachable, and what leverage exists and with whom.  I'd also be interested in knowing how many of the commissioners are on board with citizen disarmament besides Smith, Martinez, Coxe, Plymale, Joyner, and Kruppenbacher, which are names gleaned from the linked proposals.

I'm not a big believer in appealing to known enemies who are secure in their seats. It would also seem approaching those who appointed them might be fruitful, provided expectations can be backed with consequences.

Then again, all of this presupposes a critical mass of gun owners are willing to actually do something using the system that's in place. My guess is most don't even know the commission exists, let alone what it's up to.

When in Danger, When in Doubt...

Shoppers inside the mall said they were told to shelter in place for a period of time, but the building was later evacuated as police searched the mall to clear the area. Employees were instructed to close the security gates to the stores inside the mall during the lockdown. Some shoppers and customers reportedly took shelter in office space and storage rooms. [More]
There were two reports of shots fired? And customers and employees were helpless?

Hmmm...

We're the Only Ones Extorting Enough

“After aggressively interrogating Phil, and while still on the side of the interstate, officers pressured him to sign a waiver form ‘giving’ them his money,” IJ reported. [More]
Yeah, they're thugs and thieves, but ol' Phil here sounds like standing up for himself ain't exactly his long suit.

You don't give consent to search and you don't talk except to tell them you won't and that you want to speak to an attorney.

Now if you can just keep your hands away from your waistband...

My major beef: "the officers."

Why no names? They deserve to be "famous," and have this follow them around forever.

We're the Only Ones Locating Enough

Raleigh police used search warrants to demand Google accounts not of specific suspects, but from any mobile devices that veered too close to the scene of a crime, according to a WRAL News review of court records. These warrants often prevent the technology giant for months from disclosing information about the searches not just to potential suspects, but to any users swept up in the search. [More]
Hey, if you're not doing anything wrong you've got nothing to worry about, right?

If You Can't Beat 'em, Join 'em?

The thought strikes about protestors pretending to be "for" citizen disarmament waving such banners, along with communist flages and other symbols of tyranny and terror, perhaps dressed in black and wearing balaclavas... and maybe joining protests already in progress...
