Just Like the Founders Tried to Tell Us

This is why a universal militia is required to produce rule of law - the power to deny power.  [More]
Good and needed words. A (very) few of us have been pleading with the bigger fish to embrace the first 13 words in their advocacy, their lobbying, and their legal actions.

Yes, the only link I have is to the quote is to a Facebook post. I recently had someone ask me if something important I had linked to appeared somewhere else because he didn't do Facebook.

Gee, that's too bad.

Smearers Gonna Smear

Militias and self-described "constitutionalist" factions, categorized by federal authorities as anti-government extremists... [More]
They can't be. They are constitutional to their core, and that includes demanding the Bill of Rights applies to all.

National socialists and due process-denying racists, by definition, don't qualify.

When is Trump going to can that fascist, Wray?

Dropped Butter Side Down

Some critics have called the imagery racist. [More]
Of course they have.

What a shame the producers caved.

Then again, once they lost the knees and I could no longer indulge my inner juvenile, there was no reason to buy that brand over any other.

Gimme Shelter

“The guy actually opened the door, he motioned, do you have a mask? I held up my mask. I said I have one mask, I can put it on the child. He motioned no and shut the door,” said one woman as she tried to enter the shelter in Crossville. [More]
I'd out the bastard. I'd make sure everybody knew who he was.

I like to think I'd have blocked the door from closing and we'd have seen which one of us ended up on the outside, but the whole thing would have registered such disbelief it would have probably been secured before I had a chance to react. But I'd sure get him afterward.

About Those 'Stay at Home' Orders...

While you have been incarcerated at home, discouraged from traveling at all, the US government has flown 1,003 so-called Special Immigrant Visa holders into the US and distributed them around the country. [More]
Did they at least give them those tests there aren't enough of to give us?

No?

Rigorous...?

Tales of the Unexpected

You’d expect newspaper editorial pages at least to be sounding the alarm about widespread infringement on civil liberties. [More]
No, I wouldn't.

What I expect is exactly what I'm seeing.

I Want to Believe

Today, Facebook fact-checked as "false" a documentary that said it could be possible that coronavirus came from Wuhan lab. Who was the fact checker? A scientist who worked in the Wuhan lab, believe it or not. So who fact-checks Facebook's false fact-checks? @fbnewsroom @Facebook I wish I were making this up. Honestly, y'all. [More]
What? We can't rely on incentivized testimonials...?

If It Were Only That Simple

My interpretation of this is simple. It is unconstitutional for any state to block interstate commerce. Consequently, the President has the executive power to issue a binding order to open up commerce and the states cannot legally resist that order for keeping the economy locked down violates the Commerce Clause. [Download from here]
So after injunctions and years of wrangling through the courts later...

See, that's the problem, even if you're right.

Don't You Worry Your Pretty Little Heads About It

Some political theorists and others have long argued that we should at least partially replace conventional democratic elections with decision-making through "sortition"—using randomly selected groups of voters to either elect government officials or make at least some types of policy decisions directly. [More]
Why not just cut to the chase and let a strongman do it?

[Via Michael G]

Let it Be, Let it Be

Yeah, a crisis, when never-let-one-go-to-waste gun-grabbers are relying on amped-up ignorance, misdirection, and deception to demand evisceration of your rights is no time for the truth!

We're the Only Ones Aware Enough

According to sources, the police officers and sheriff’s deputy purchased the guns without legally required federal paperwork and probably at steep discounts, which could expose them to criminal charges. “They knew what they were doing,” said a person familiar with the investigation. “You know when you’re buying illegally and well below market value.” [More]
And you can bet every one of those sewers-of-corruption motherf*****s would have happily ruined your life or outright killed you if they caught you with a banned-by-diktat gun, or carrying one without an essentially impossible-to-obtain permit from their piece of crap bosses.
