April 28, 1777 at Norwalk, Connecticut - Maj. Gen. William Tryon made his way to Compo Hill, close to where he would board his ships. Brig. Gen. Benedict Arnold's men formed up for an attack, but 400 British troops, led by Gen. ?? Erskine charged them with bayonets and the Americans scattered. Tryon's men boarded the ships and sailed off.
