The Jackson-Madison County Library Board will decide April 16 whether signs banning guns in the library's north branch will stay posted...
Because we all know there is no more competent and qualified authority on personal armed defense than a county library board. Particularly one with director Richard Salmons and branch manager Arlene Griffin making our life and death decisions for us. I'm sure if anything bad happens, they'll be more than equipped to handle it and protect their patrons.
Good grief.
Why the armed citizen even felt the need to bring it up is beyond me. What's with this conditioned need for approval from someone...anyone in "authority"?

The Sheep programming is thoroughly ingrained these days.
My wife recently got her CWP, and I have to nag her constantly to carry. She still thinks there's someone she ought to be asking for permission I guess!
I live in Jackson. The sign isn't posted properly anyway, so it carries no weight.
It should be noted that the main branch of the library doesn't sport those signs. The branch in question isn't even a library so much as it is a coffee shop and internet cafe.
How foolish do you have to be to ASK someone if you may please, pretty please, exercise your rights in a building they don't even own. Pretty please? No? OK!
Sheesh.
If I'm carrying and noboby knows, why ask for permission? there are so many stupid people in this country, government educated. It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
