We're the Only Ones in Your Mind Enough

What's in the mind of the officer may not be what's in the mind of the viewer"... [More]
Well, at least we know what was in the mind of the suspect: an "Only One's" boot.

that's funny:

nobody cares what's in the mind of a murderer, because they still murdered someone. their actions condemn them.

and of course nobody cares what actions a police officer take, because it's all what's in their mind when it happened that makes their actions right. of course.

and, hey, nobody cares what's in the mind of a law-abiding citizen who wants to carry concealed: they're probably just aspiring murderers!

Just STUPID! It hurts the case in court, opens the officer to civil and criminal litigation, and can cost the city.

Here's hoping he gets fired and winds up working somewhere digging ditches.

Was it an actual kick or did he just step on his head real fast, apparently the latest in immobilization techniques? FIGURATIVELY grinding someone into the dirt just isn't enough.
I won't address the issue of a known gang member being out of jail driving around. I've been attacked for pooh-poohing their freedom of association. I just have to wonder if he's one who should be wearing an orange pajama jumpsuit for life, is all. But an arrest is an arrest, not Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Then there is the second officer who jumps in and starts hitting him and the k9 handler who tries to get the dog to bite.

"Before coming to any conclusion, I want to look at all the facts," Armstrong said. "I don't know what was in the mind of the officer."What the hell difference does it make 'what was in his mind'? Did he or did he not kick a surrendered person in the fricking head? On video, in living color? Seems simple enough.

"The police officers acted within the bounds of policy, given the circumstances." Bet me?

Anybody?

Bueller?

Couldn't watch the video before. That kick put him OUT. Then about 12 shots with the baton to the ribs and kidneys, like tenderizing a side of beef. Sadists. He was spread-eagled and submitting. Cold have crashed a house and tried to take hostages. Could have done a lot of things. He was giving up. Sorry he wasted so much precious police time and gasoline.
Will there be riots? I'd certainly understand.

"However, an attorney for the El Monte police union told the Los Angeles Times the action was justified because the suspect hadn't been searched and the officer feared he might be armed.

"So the officer did what is known as a distraction blow. It wasn't designed to hurt the man, just distract him," said Dieter Danmeier of the El Monte Police Officers Association.

"Unfortunately these things never look good on video. Sometimes officers have to use force when dealing with bad guys."

Defender, the Ultimate Fighting Championship does not allow kicks or knees to the head of a downed opponent.
You'll have to decide how ironic that is.
