"During the entry, a female suspect inside the apartment became non-compliant with officers' instructions," Reagan wrote in a news release. "When she attempted to flee out a bedroom window, officers attempted to restrain her. During efforts to prevent her escape, a shot was fired and the woman suffered a minor wound to her upper torso. She fell out the window and received first aid from containment officers stationed at the back of the apartments." [More]
Continuum of care, "Only Ones"-style...

David I know you get a bunch of these every day, I normally only try to shoot you what I think is of interest to the readers here.
But that one was so egregious that I felt it warranted being spread around. Thanks for passing the word.
I dunno, Chef: taking potshots at pregnant women who would clearly rather risk escape out a window than "talk" with the Only Ones, seems to be just about on par with our current state of affairs, doesn't it? :-)
Note that there were "containment officers stationed at the back of the apartments". These must have been known to the, er, strike team, presuming they are anywise competent in team tactics, and STILL the response to "non-compliance" and the act of trying to escape* is to attempt murder. (Let's not mince words. "attempted murder" is the term that would be used if the shooter were any human being other than a government agent, and just because the badge "allows" its wearer to get away with murder with no discernable accountability, neither excuses the act, nor makes it something other than what it is.) Anyone still believe "equal protection under the law" is something you can depend on?
Bet your life on?
Fortunately, it appears that the thug is a lousy shot. As Jeff Cooper used to say, most thugs are lousy shots, but you can't count on it.
See, whether or not you're willing to bet your life on the outcome is not even relevant. Others have long ago bet your life on it for you.

* Peaceable escape is an entirely rational response to today's enforcement thugs, who present a much greater risk to the innocent than any freelance criminal.
I would MUCH prefer people being left alone to destroy their lives with drugs peacefully and quietly than having continuing and accelerating atrocities such as this.
"Prisoner shot while escaping" is a grim joke police use when talking about summary executions.
Note the passive voice "A shot was fired." Not "Officer ___ fired a shot."
Maybe the woman read about that case of a 10-year-old girl being shot through the head as she lay on a couch when police burst into a home. Detroit, Chicago? I can't keep them straight anymore, there are so many.
The Passive voice is used to try and deny any real responsibility.
My Rhetoric professors taught me to hate it with a fury that would make most Grammar Nazis take pause.
