It also comes with a set of physical keys, just in case you’re having trouble with the fingerprint reader, the device runs out of battery, or you simply need someone to unlock it when you’re not available. [More]Having to carry a set of keys around for an $80 novelty subject to failure when you need it most kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
Who wants that technology for a gun? Who wants it mandated?

I am curious about the actual lock . How many pins? Any security pins? Open keyway? Is it easily raked ? Does the reader require living tissue or just the actual print?
Like anything else , convenience reduces security . I am guessing that the convenience of using a print to open the lock required a reduction in security elsewhere .
I pick locks as a hobby , so may get one of these just to see how hard/easy they are to get into .
The guys on the Internet who pick difficult locks for fun will be ROFLTAO.
