We're the Only Ones Pleading Enough

Plea deal keeps former Pima County sheriff's deputy from prison, preserves pension - The plea bargain dismisses all seven felonies, with the former official admitting to three misdemeanor theft counts in $500,000 embezzlement case. [More]
So what this essentially did was let a corrupt "Only One" walk, disincentivize all whistleblowers from coming forward in the future, and the feds got no bigger fish served up in return?

It sounds like the next investigation ought to center on the U.S. Attorney.

UPDATE: WarOnGuns Correspondent Henry reminds us in comments why we still need to come up with an all-encompassing definition for the term "Dupnik." It seems like if you put a Soviet spin on it, it pretty much defines itself.

"Court records indicate the thefts occurred over a period of nearly two decades, most of which overlapped Dupnik's 35 years in office.”

It’s worth reiterating that Democrat Dupnik, unlike the embattled Arpaio and Babeu in adjacent counties, was no friend of the Second Amendment.

"I am a strong proponent of people's right to defend themselves with firearms. However, I am opposed to assault rifles. In my judgment they are designed primarily for warfare.”

"Dupnik was among the first to wade into the [Gifford shooting] debate when he called Arizona the 'Tombstone of the United States of America' while assailing the state's lax gun laws as a possible contributor to Saturday's massacre."

Soviet spin? The Polish word for ass is "dupa". I have read (Lizzie Collingham's "The Taste of War: World War II and the Battle for Food" (2012)) that a meat protein product available to inhabitants of the Warsaw Ghetto during German occupation was washed, minced rectum made into sausage called "dupniki", as the main ingredient was not considered edible by the Germans.
