Ideological forebears...* |
Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, which descended into chaos when minorities students demanded that whites leave campus for a “Day of Absence,” has plunged even further, with gangs of bat- and baton-wielding students now roaming the campus. [More]What could be more forward-thinking than reenergizing the Tonton Macoute at "a progressive, public liberal arts and sciences college"?
Oh, look:
71% of Greeners receive financial aid.Talk about "a vibrant community!" And the full price suckers who don't are considered "privileged"!
As an aside I just came across this photo on their "Campus Life" page. It looks like something kindergartners would paint and Mommy would put on the refrigerator:
Dare you tell her she has no talent? Of course not. Trophies for everyone! She should be honored, like the original Rainbow Guy. Heck, Google even gave him a Doodle. (Not so much these guys.)
But somebody's breaking the "social contract":
A central focus of those values is freedom—freedom to explore ideas and to discuss those ideas in both speech and print; freedom from reprisal for voicing concerns and beliefs, no matter how unpopular. It's this freedom that is so necessary in a vibrant, dynamic learning community...There may be no discrimination at Evergreen with respect to race...And naturally:
The Evergreen State College will not tolerate violent or threatening behavior directed at students, faculty, staff, visitors, oneself or property. This includes any acts of violence, harassment or threats made on Evergreen property, or at Evergreen sponsored events; and refers to acts or threats of violence made directly or indirectly, by words or gestures or symbols ... Employees and visitors may not possess, carry, or store firearms, edged weapons, blunt force weapons or explosives or dangerous chemicals on college property, to include privately owned vehicles parked on college property.Hey, with "progressives," every day is Opposite Day.
* Which reminds me of another story...

These people have gone way beyond the point of no return. I note that neither Obama nor that Clinton woman have uttered a peep to reign these people in.
I compare these things to the Oregon standoff, where those people were called everything and should have all just been killed. But hey, student violence on college campuses? That's just dandy.
We can only hope that the schools where these children are running rampant will get the University of Missouri treatment. Or a whole lot of government funding cut.
If I were a student on that campus, my Sig .380 would be riding along with me - the law be damned. Bats are deadly weapons when used as such. Really, I'd be looking at transferring to another school that is attempting to educate the snowflakes instead of kowtowing to them.
