Ramey says a person called to report claims that a woman in the house was threatening to commit suicide and to hurt children, which prompted the welfare check at 147 Meadowview Drive. Ramey says there was nothing going on at the residence to substantiate these claims, however, and the threats weren't true. [More]Why'd the guy that got killed point a gun at deputies?
Forgive me for asking, but did he?

You mean, besides the fact that he was 100% within his rights to do so?
When you are in your own home doing absolutely nothing wrong, how do you tell the differrence between a SWATting and a home invasion by fake police?
These cops should be up for manslaughter at the very least. Anyone can scream “police,” just like anyone can call 911 with a fake emergency.
"The GBI says Parkinson pointed the weapon at Deputy Chandler, at which point Deputy Chandler fired shots at Parkinson, killing him."
Of course they're going to say that! Their victim is DEAD. Only their side of the story will be told. Once it is written in a report, it is documented! Then it becomes the "truth"!
Once again the "Vast Majority" is deadly silent.
THE perfect illustration of this is the killing of Oscar Grant. Meserle drew his pistol and shot Grant, who was face down and being straddled, in the back. Then Meserle looks at his weapon as if to ask it, "Why did you do that"?
Meserle's partner did NOTHING after he watched Meserle murder a man. I say again, he did NOTHING. He was one of the "Vast Majority".
I heard this is called "murder" somewhere. Just not when blue-clad gangsters do it.
