She’s asking what the adults are going to do to protect her from bullying. Even if they could get the cop to show up, I don’t think it’s the right point on the continuum of force. TIme was when school personnel had the power to address that appropriately (even though they often failed to do so anyway). Now, they’ve all been voluntarily neutered, because it’s more comfortable to them to be able to say that they COULDN’T do anything than to have to admit that they DIDN’T do anything.
Today, we drove past a large, unfamiliar building that my wife guessed was a prison. It turned out to be a high school. But just give the country a little more time.
