Honor the Request

Walmart ends all handgun ammunition sales and asks customers not to carry guns into stores ... [More]
Don't worry, I won't.

That's actually a misleading headline, though. It's open carry being discouraged ("asked") and they're also discontinuing "ammunition commonly used in assault-style weapons." They also won't sell handguns in Alaska.

Concealed carry is still being "allowed," since there's no practical way to enforce it without TSA rules. That and the Fudds will still be able to get deals during wabbit season for their shotguns, and sniper assassins will still be able to feed their powerful, scoped "deer" rifles...

But wait....what about .22LR ammo? Works in handguns as well as rifles.

Come to think of it, so does .38, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, 9mm, .45ACP, .45 Long Colt, .30 Carbine....etc

Soooooo..........walmart wants licensed ccw holders to shop and leave their guns in the car? What could go wrong? Who will have the parking lot concession?

No, "Concealed carry is still being 'allowed,' since there's no practical way to enforce it without TSA rules."

Sometimes when stressed I find myself myself mumbling a list of names, Kinda like Arya Stark did: Smith & Wesson, Delta Airlines, Levi Straus, NASCAR, Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart.......

Before the advent of the TC Contender, you might have been able to sort ammo into neat piles labeled "handgun" and "rifle". But with the range of factory and custom barrels available for the Contender that just doesn't work anymore.

Years ago a friend of mine bought his Contender at Walmart.

So they can claim whatever they want. But the reality is they have no f'ing excuse.

The upside is that a lot of Mom & Pop brick and mortar gun shops will have a chance to make some additional sales and stay alive. Wal-Mart is going out of their way to anger gun owners.
