That courthouses by their very nature attract criminals and criminal relatives and associates is a reason why I would like to see a law passed mandating that a jury summons, with a de facto mandate to appear unarmed, creates a "special relationship" duty for the state to protect.

Unfortunately, Arizona's hard-won law requiring the state to provide secure checking services for personal firearms in their gun-free buildings doesn't apply to federal buildings. :-(
