I speculated the other day in an email to some friends:
How many bridges/roads into DC could have something as simple as Covid checkpoints targeting out-of-state (besides MD and VA) plates to slow things down enough/turn it into an "island" and make the Jan 6 protest a bust?

Update: If you're the "law-abiding" type who goes in for permits, they're making things impossible for you. Within 1,000 feet of wherever they arbitrarily post their signs and sentiments could not be more in-your-face.[Via Jess]
