A big part of the problem is subversive Bible misinterpretations. e.g.,
* Thou shalt not kill: Even in self-defense.
* Turn the other cheek: Spread the other cheek.
* Give away your money: Give away everyone else's, especially to loafers.
* Be kind to sojourners (legal visitors, guests): Borders are evil, let everyone in, anchor babies, voting rights, amnesty etc.
* OBEY authority: Even genocidal tyrants.
This last is cover for cowardice, spawned by misrepresentation of Romans 13, 1 Peter ii, etc, as prescribing unconditional subservience. This self-serving dogma was discredited before the Dutch Revolt, the English Civil War & the American Revolution.
But the lesson is forgotten, convenient for tyrants. We've been programmed to mindlessly OBEY. To see the idiocy plug specific examples into scripture.
"OBEY every ordinance of Adolph Hitler." Or "Let everyone OBEY the Khmer Rouge, for they are established by God."
John Adams said "everyone" in the colonies read Mayhew's 1749 sermon that showed mindless obedience is treason:
" ‘Tis treason against against mankind, against common sense, against God. This impious principle lays the foundation for justifying all the tyranny and oppression that ever any prince was guilty of."
His sermon starts on P41 of the Pulpit of the American Revolution pdf. Needs to be rediscovered.
We can't resist tyranny until we run commies, useful idiots & cowards out of the pulpit, defund treasonous cowardly churches, find or found other churches, or worship at home. Demand our Padres read & preach the true meaning or "adiós, MF".
