By a number of measures, it would appear that the pendulum of public opinion is moving back in a direction favorable to RKBA. And while I am well aware that rights protected by the Constitution of the United States and of the various States should not be subject to public opinion, it is pretty clear by now that Chief Justice Roberts is.
Leaving things in a half done state as we now have post Heller and McDonald, and with the mishmash of contrary rulings in the various Circuit Courts making a mockery of the Equal Protection Clause, it is difficult to see how Roberts can leave things as they are and not bring additional ridicule down on the court he leads.
Still, one hopes for the best while preparing for the worst.
