IL State Police Self-Defense Advice for Women (Part Two): Resistance is Futile

At one time, the ISP website passed on a rather remarkable bit of information:

"Half of all the women that fire a gun trying to protect themselves shoot someone they do not want to, i.e., friends. neighbors, relatives, etc."

It's remarkable because it's utter, unsubstantiated bull, with no foundation in any study, let alone reality. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column, the second in a series, looks at the Borg collective mentality that is Illinois state government.

IL State Police Self-Defense Advice for Women: Vomit

Hey, here's an idea! Tell your rapist you have an STD! And hope his response isn't "That's OK, baby, so do I." Then there's this SUPER defense tip-- Vomit! Do something disgusting involving bodily fluids! And in their words: "Use your imagination and you can think of others." For instance, I suppose you could BLEED! But here's their most important tip: "Use of a firearm to protect yourself or property is not recommended." [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column revisits something we discussed here a while back--Illinois "Only Ones" making pompous jackasses of themselves. Thing is, their stupid, dangerous advice is still posted.

This Day in History: September 19

When Major General Burgoyne and his men reached Albany in September, they found the city protected by 7,000 Patriots under Major General Horatio Gates. Because the Patriots had used the land to their advantage, they decided to sit and let the British make their move. There were some minor assaults, but finally on September 19, 1777, Major General Burgoyne and his troops attacked the Patriots at Freeman's Farm. The Patriots were reinforced by Major General Benedict Arnold's troops, but could not hold off the British. [More]

About that San Francisco Political Violence in the Late '70s...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi said, choking up and with tears forming in her eyes. "This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made." [More]

Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...

The single mother, her daughter and teenage son, Anthony, had endured ten years of being virtual prisoners in their own home as a gang of up to 16 “street kids” tormented them for simply “existing”. [More]
It's like the whole damn country is some sort of evil laboratory experiment designed to see what it takes to drive the test subjects into destroying themselves...

What's the Word For...?

Switzerland is grappling with a question and it’s a loaded one: should its citizens be allowed to keep military rifles at home? [More]
I'd like to coin a new term for subversive punk hoplophobes, something along the lines of "quisling" for traitorous collaborators.

I think we ought to call them "schneblis."

Be nice to see that catch on...

We're the Only Ones on Work Release Enough

Two Roberta police officers convicted of misdemeanors continue to serve on the force while serving time on weekends. [More]
Only the "Only Ones."

Good grief.

The Precinct Project

Here’s the point: the Party does have good conservatives in it who are willing to take positions of Party leadership, but they won’t get elected into those positions unless the Party has a solid majority of conservatives in the PC ranks. As a PC, you can devote as much or as little time to other PC tasks such as helping to get out the vote on election day and informing the voters in your precinct about the best candidates, how best to vote on initiatives, etc. Politics matter. Look at the outcome of the last election. But to be able to vote for the Party leadership, a conservative registered Republican voter must be a PC. It’s that simple. [More]

We're the Only Ones Exempted Enough

"We have a blanket policy to use the exemption in all cases," said Jody Donaldson, a spokesman for the Alexandria Police Department. "I can’t think of a single example where we wouldn’t use the exemption." [More]
And did Lt. Patrick Donahue really say "In the interest of fairness..."?

Honest and fair men don't fear the light. The only plausible explanation is Alexandria "Only Ones" are afraid of having their activities reviewed by We the People.

Why would that be?

And why would anyone trust them with anything, let alone guns?

MSNBC: Most Subversive Network Bashes Constitution

So Chris Matthews thinks people expressing their political views deserves to be shunned and beaten up? And Drew Westen demands a 1-mile radius traveling citizen disarmament circle to follow the president around wherever he goes? Plus anyone who's not a national socialist is a racist, even if we're not aware of it? [More]

And we have to be "called out" for it?

Go ahead. Call us out.

"80% of Americans" may indeed be ignorant enough to fall for this. The important segment to keep in mind are the 3% who are not.

Would Alarm Have Given Annie Le a Chance?

One gets the feeling Ms. Brown has never gone one-on-one with an enraged male over twice her size who has murder on his mind. We're the Only Ones Using Our Powers for Good Enough

On Tuesday, Ed Musgrove of the sheriff's department told 10News the device was only being used for good...[More]
And doesn't that just sound like the solemn pledge of some corny superhero?

But I'm being cynical. Since when have "Only Ones" ever used their powers otherwise...?

Hey, the panel on that LARD..uh...LRAD device looks like it would be just the right size to backstop a long-range target, doesn't it?

We're the Only Ones Meaner Enough

Authorities say a former North Las Vegas police officer agreed to plead guilty to reduced charges stemming from allegations he sought dates and sexual favors from women he stopped for traffic violations. [More]
So "Only One" attempts at coerced sex truly are misdemeanors? You know--de more you miss de meaner you get...?

Figures they'd let this abusive deviant plea down. Any wonder what would have happened had one of these women pulled a firearm on him and ordered him to back off?

We're the Only Ones Pushing Enough

But I'm sure he would have never abused that trust while on duty, right?

The Fast Track for Forgiveness

He added that some senators are eager to get back in good stead with the National Rifle Association after crossing the group by voting to confirm Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court... [More]
Because "allowing" guns in locked cased on federally-subsidized trains and confirming a SCOTUS nominee hostile to RKBA are so equally weighted in importance, you see...

Don't let the noise about "another pro-gun victory" drown out this fact. I'm still waiting to see what that "cost" for confirmation will turn out to be. My guess is, stuff like this will be used as justification to not extract a noticeable price at all.
