Menino Chick-fil-A stance shows guns aren’t only freedom ‘progressives’ threaten

If Menino, a partner in New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, can block a business based on political issues they support, what is to stop him from doing so based on a company’s championing of the Second Amendment, or a host of other issues that defy the so-called “progressive” agenda of government control and dominance over every aspect of citizens’ lives? Can business interest that support right to life or voter ID, or other “conservative causes” be far behind? Is it the place of government that is supposed to represent all of the people to discriminate against disapproved minorities and bestow a competitive advantage, not to mention special privileges and immunities, only to concerns that promote the agenda of the political bosses? Today's Gun Rights Examiner offering notes it's unseemly and offensive for Mumbles to be choking the chicken in public.

Was CO Theater a "No Guns" Zone?

A lot of people weighing in on forums and elsewhere are saying "yes," and pointing to anecdotal evidence that the Cinemark chain has a policy against concealed carry.

What we haven't determined yet--and with all the gun owners in that part of CO, it should be easy to confirm with a photo (after the crime scene is cleared): Was that particular theater posted?

And here's the thing--even if it was, there's the matter of state law.

Per HandgunLaw:
“No Firearm” signs in Colorado have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry. If you are in a place not specifically mentioned in the law that is posted and they ask you to leave, you must leave. If you refuse to leave then you are breaking the law and can be charged.
Per USA Carry:
Places off-limits when carrying:
1. Any place prohibited by federal law (e.g. federal offices or courthouse)
2. Any property of public school grades kindergarten through 12, unless the firearm remains inside a container in a locked vehicle
3. Any public building that prohibits ALL weapons which posts guards and permanent metal detectors at all entrances and requires all entrants to surrender handguns to security personnel before entry

The Obvious Solution

AMC Bans Masks, Fake Weapons In Theaters [More]
Thank goodness.

Sound the "All clear."

See, the Problem was Lax Laws

Oh, hamburgers. This is more apologia for additional gun control. ATF made no attempt to track the weapons. And as for his final comment on gun bloggers seeing a conspiracy, it was an agent who came up with "padding statistics," not the other way around. [Read]

[W]hy they chose to run with such a statement before properly vetting it has some wondering if media bias played a part, particularly noting the exchange took place with Democrat operative-turned-"newsman" George Stephanopoulos. [More]

ATF damage control on whistleblowers raising new concerns

[I]t looked to some like ATF may have been taking its legal obligation more seriously than previously recognized. But the operative phrase is “looked like,” because some "in the know" maintain the appearance is calculated and deceptive, and that this fits an established and cynical pattern of abuse. [More]

The Gun Offender Registry

Maryland’s  attorney general ruled in late June that the list must also be made  public. [More]
Yeah--just like we do with perverts!

Hey burglars and home invaders--want to know where you're practically guaranteed to find a gun?

I can't believe everyone involved in this is actually that stupid--many of them, yes, but there is calculation at work here, too, by those who not only don't mind seeing people get killed when their policies go into play, but who are counting on that to advance their agenda.

Just like with Gunwalker.

"The Second Amendment is My Gun Permit"

No it's not.

I just saw that stupid quote again in an email solicitation and was reminded about how much it bugs me when people say it, because those who haven't thought things through believe it and then use it themselves.
