“Nothing in this section or in any other statute shall be construed to confer upon the Governor or any official or employee of any department, agency or political subdivision of the state the power to: Confiscate or seize a firearm, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition from a person who is in lawful possession of such firearm, ammunition, or components of ammunition; or Impose additional restrictions as to the lawful possession, transfer, sale, carrying, storage, display or use of firearms, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition.” [More]This evening’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes a positive move in the Magnolia State. And I note the curiosity that the only news report on this legislative development at this writing originates in the Buckeye State.

The Clock is Ticking

Eric Cooke Continues to Endear Himself
You-uns remember Eric Cooke...?
Anybody think there are orders he wouldn't follow?
I know, it's not fair to judge him unless I've goose-stepped a mile in his jackboots.

Gun owners unafraid of threatened Weinstein and Streep NRA-bashing film
If Weinstein wishes to spend millions of dollars on a social engineering project, all gun owners need do is nothing, except maybe ridicule him and dare him to. [More]Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report urges someone who presumes to have the power to make us wish we weren’t alive to give it his best shot.
Ethical Gunmakers
Hooray for the good guys. [More]
As for the bad, isn't there a word for giving aid and comfort to the enemy?
All aid and comfort?

You Can Check Out Any Time You Want But You Can Never Leave
I assume that means no more sales to any enforcement agencies and personnel, too, or will Pen. Code, § 32000(b)(4) come into play? [More]
And while I agree that manufacturers should cease doing business with the state (and not just CA), there's one other group that still provides services that are then turned around and actually used against their members, and no one is saying a word to them about it (well, almost no one).

I'd like to see them do one now addressed to Graham and Cornyn, who evidently have the green light to carry water for the preemptive surrenderers. You know, our "leaders."

An Upstate Insurrection
...many clerks and local police simply ignored the law...[More]Well, that's not really how I would define "insurrection," but it's a good start.
Let me know when the ones who don't ignore it become personally compelled to not enforce it.

Oh Deer
They're going to start controlling the population in Ithaca by opening a special hunting season. [More]
There's gotta be a better way. I understand doe sterilization in Cayuga Heights ended up proving problematic, but that's because they only addressed half the problem.
Before the animal murderers start with their wanton slaughter, why not let cervine rights activists try putting condoms on stags?

This Day in History: January 16
In answer to yours of the 14th I can only say, it is my earnest wish you should proceed, if possible, to the southern Army, where you could probably, for some time to come, employ yourself most advantageously; the enemy appearing, by the latest accounts, to have left us in possession of the whole Country, except the Vicinities of Charles Town and Savannah... Now THAT's Funny!
GOA just shared this on Facebook. Evidently, someone stickered the ATF booth sign at SHOT!
Misspelling aside, that's hysterical.

Sean Penn owning guns after domestic violence plea raises legal questions
What Penn is even doing with guns in the first place is a mystery, if the reports are true that when partnered with Madonna, he tied her to a chair and beat her up with a baseball bat. The Lautenberg amendment prohibition on gun ownership applies to those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, and according to the New York Daily News, “Penn was also charged with felony domestic assault during his marriage to Madonna. He pleaded to a misdemeanor.” [More]
As usual, all the “real reporters” missed the real story. Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report asks how someone with a Lautenberg gun prohibition can have 65 guns to melt down in the first place. Perhaps it would make for a good Five Minute Activism project to ask @ATFHQ...
Sunday's Armed American Radio Program
I meant to post this earlier in the week but got sidetracked, and just now remembered:
Supreme Court case victor Dick Heller joins forces with Rasta Rock Opera musician Stevie Marco to educate kids and bring their message to AAR. Famed economist, author and Fox News Contributor John R. Lott talks Obama executive orders, David Codrea and George “The Mad Ogre” Hill discuss current events.

I'm sorry...I realize the guy has made a turnaround, and I admit he has since used his voice and reach to do a lot of good -- but there's just something about this that makes me think... "Really?"
As an aside, anybody think Dick Metcalf will be perceptive enough to pick up on the blatant, can't miss 'em signals the gun establishment is sending him, or will he continue sleeping with the enemy...?
