And for those of us who went on to become advocates for the right to keep and bear arms, he was an enigma we’ll forever have trouble reconciling. Our admiration for his deeds will be dogged by recognition of the lead Glenn took in imposing infringements that dictate the way guns are owned and transferred today. [More]Remember and celebrate John Glenn’s life and deeds outside of politics.

John Glenn’s Heroic Legacy Dimmed by His Support for ‘Gun Control’
Reverse and Advance
Republican Congressmen Form the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus [More]I'll have to find time to check up on each of the members here and here. Unless somebody else wants to.
It won't be today, that's for sure.
Let's hope we don't see preemptive true due-process surrenders on "mental health" and "no fly/no buy." Let's hope we see "Enforce existing gun laws" replaced with "Repeal existing gun laws."
We need doers, not posturers.

This is Outrageous!
How dare these alt-right racists call this human being an "illegal alien"! [More]
This is why what rightwing extremists spew out is fake news. Here's how the professionals do it.
And better yet: You don't need to be bothered by such things that will only fuel the hate.

Maybe We Should Make It Illegal or Something
Heroin Now Kills More People Than Guns In America [More]I'd argue with the way saying it like that designates blame, but we know what they mean. This isn't something productive and hopeful people do, is it?

'Party Crashers'
A typical friendly get-together goes wrong when a "friend of a friend" is invited. The party-giver may have regretted his decision to drop his defense. [More]This week on "Stop the Threat"...
We're the Only Ones Withdrawn Enough
That plan, originally intended as a retention perk for veterans, made hundreds of officers, firefighters and retirees into millionaires. DROP allowed them to retire on paper, continue working and meanwhile defer their pension benefit checks into a separate account. [More]Looks like the gravy train jumped the tracks...

Oath Keepers Opposes Anti-Gun Activist David Petraeus for Secretary of State
If President-Elect Trump really wants to “drain the Swamp” he needs to drain the GOP side too, and flush out the anti-constitution “neocon” slime, right along with the anti-constitution Marxist slime. Two sides of the same globalist, totalitarian, Constitution killing coin. Trump really needs to start listening to the hardcore patriots and constitutionalists who got him elected, not the inside-the-beltway, Bush Admin leftovers, and “lesser of two evils” oath breakers in the GOP. Root them all out. Drain the whole damn thing. [More]Oath Keepers goes the additional step of letting President-Elect Trump know that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney are also unacceptable candidates for the same reasons stated by GOA about Petraeus. That’s because “America’s Mayor” betrayed his oath when he backed federal testing/licensing of gun owners, semi-auto bans, and suing manufacturers. Romney has done the same throughout his political career, despite attempts by “gun lobby” compromisers to minimize his betrayals, and even paint them as necessary strategic moves.

We're the Only Ones Hazy Enough
A Las Vegas-based FBI special agent, in town on an undisclosed investigation, felt intense paranoia before he drew a gun at a fitness center then shot at a responding Grand Rapids police sergeant ... The agent, Ruben Hernandez, 35, has only a "vague, hazy" recollection of the possibly alcohol-fueled events early Tuesday ... [More]This is an update giving more details on an earlier post.
Now that I see the reasons, I can sympathize and understand. I hate it whenever I do this, don't you?

We're the Only Ones Illuminating Enough
I was looking for something else and came across this open letter from 14+ years ago that I wrote to an idiot Police Chief whose position was you don't need guns and in case of home invasion, just turn on the lights. [More]

Thank You for the Backup
Where was “Sandy Hook” mentioned in the article? The only time that phrase is mentioned is as part of the name of a specific group (Sandy Hook Promise) that produced/plagiarised a propaganda video promoting attacks on firearms rights using deadly government force. [More]My point exactly.
I appreciate when readers help keep things real.

I dunno -- they both have "As" from GOA, and Jordan is actually half a point higher ("A" compared to "A-") from Numbers USA...
I hope we do see more action from the Freedom Caucus. But I'll need more than rah-rah testimonials using phrases like "rock-ribbed conservative."
Very pretty, Colonel, Very pretty. But, can they fight?
How about we see an agenda and a milestone schedule, something that lets us in on what the plan is and then lets us measure how they're doing with it? You know, project management tools like they use in business to define goals and track progress?

Why Couldn't the Troublemaker Just Roll Over?
Some who heard about this win, pooh-poohed it saying that Ken should have just supplied his photo ID as requested. To them I say that if you and I have to follow the law, so must the government. PERIOD. [More]Those counseling preemptive surrender and appeasement will never be relevant to freedom. Defeatists in the trenches do the work of the enemy.
I'll go a step further: Government isn't just tasked to follow the law, it's tasked to enforce it. In a rational world, anyone attempting to impose infringements would be stopped and brought to trial.
