We have an old subversive and a young one in training. And the kid is supposed to be sacrosanct and immune from criticism, giving the insiders backing him a pass from having their own motives questioned too closely. Proving their power to punish those who aren’t afraid to cross the self-serving boundaries they would impose, “progressive” social media monopolists are deleting the accounts of those who dare question his credibility. [More]If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. This time with a new crop of useful idiots.

Oscars Drop to All-Time Low [More]Ha. I watched Mel Gibson in "Hamlet" last night -- been wanting to see that version since it came out and I really liked it.
And as for the piscophilia-promoting reboot of Creature from the Black Lagoon that won "Best Picture," Jimmy puts it in proper perspective:

The Way Things Ought to Be
"What should we think of a gentleman, who, upon hiring a waiting-man, should say to him—'my friend, please to take notice, before we come together, that I shall always claim the liberty of eating when and what I please, of fishing and hunting upon my own ground, of keeping as many horses and hounds as I can maintain, and of speaking and writing my sentiments upon all subjects.' A servant must be a fool, who would not suppose such a master to be a madman... Let these truths sink deep into our hearts: that the people are the masters of their rulers and that rulers are the servants of the people..." [More]Looks like the servant is no fool and the master is quite mad...

John Kasich tells Congress 'don't ask permission' on gun control or Dreamers bills [More]He can't run for governor again after this term, so options to make him feel the contempt are limited. If he ever runs for office again, any gun owner who votes for him deserves the same regard.

An Illinois gun show bans AR-15 sales ...[More]F*** them. And if you knew and went anyway, f*** you.
A More Inclusive Man than I Am
When one of my liberal friends asks me why I don’t support gun control or the buzz phrase “assault weapons ban,” my answer is simple; “I don’t support, nor do I wish to perpetuate, archaic and racist laws from the 1700’s.” [More]Me, I discriminate. I don't have any "liberal friends."
A Classic Example
This bill is a classic example of a fundamentally good bill destroyed by countless amendments. [More]So we give you crumbs if you surrender a right?
This is what happens when you let Republiquislings get away with betrayals. Zero tolerance may hurt in the short run, but it's the only way to drive the point home.
My suggestion-- and don't waste your time on Democrats -- is to send them a picture of Audie Murphy with the question "What the f*** is wrong with you?"

A 'Moderate' Illinois Republican
What is it with gun-grabbing pieces of Illinois Republican crap?
The latest to side squarely with Team Totalitarian is House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, who, like a true oath-breaker and traitor is the "Republican" driving force behind a proposed magazine ban.
Gov. Bruce Rauner is facing pressures of his own with new citizen disarmament measures including redundant state licensing of dealers and "rais[ing] the minimum age from 18 to 21 to buy an assault rifle ... a measure to ban the sale of bump stocks and other modifications and another which requires a 72-hour 'cooling off' period on assault rifle sales."
Years back Republican strategist Lee Atwater was reputed to have asked "Who else are they going to vote for?" meaning the GOP could basically do whatever they wanted and gun owners would eat whatever sh!+ they slopped in front of them. My advice (from years of observing the odious Mark Kirk) has been to reject that and teach the object lesson that betrayal will not be rewarded, but will be punished -- every time. The only way to change things is to force gunquislings out. Take the hit now so that next time the Party won't dare offer a dud. Do, it, make it known you are doing it, and let everyone know afterward that you did it. And make sure they know why. That is, if you're serious about sending the right message and getting an acceptable candidate next time around.
As we all know, no one listens to me, at least not in numbers big enough to make a difference, so we are where we are, with the "only" options being to write the governor and ask him "Please," to write Durkin and appeal to whatever motivates him, and to write to other Republican legislators and do the same.
I wouldn't waste my time writing any "safe seat"Democrats," unless the object is to give their staffers a laugh.
If you're an Illinois gun owner, I shouldn't have to give you this link. You should also know how to connect with your "representatives" via their social media accounts. Pessimistically, because of experience after experience, my guess is this guy from Ohio just did more with this post on a Sunday morning than 90% of Illinois gun owners will for the rest of the year.
Don't backtalk me on that, prove me wrong.

A Brilliant Defense!
Bam. That’s it in a nutshell — this is why founders saw fit to put in place a Second Amendment. It wasn’t a right to hunt they were defending; it was a God-given right to protect one’s self and one’s family from harm. And specifically: from harm from the government.[More]Yeah, and why would "civilians need access to military weapons" to do that?
Brilliant!
So is The Washington Times really unaware of that, or more likely, are we being treated to Swamp apologia? It sure looks like that worked with most of the comment posters.
