Does ATF Want Seized Property Notices Noticed?

Had they wanted to, ATF could have made this available on the Internet in a matter of minutes and then put out a press release. And they could have done it with all the bells and whistles--a nice user-friendly searchable file...had they wanted to. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner gives you what your government will not: An online listing of the seized firearms we discussed here last Friday.

Most gun owners don't even know about this--and that seems intentional. BATFU is doing the bare minimum to comply.

This information appears nowhere else--for now. Please help change that and spread the GRE link far and wide.

Also get the latest from my Examiner colleagues.

And for those of you who weren't around over the weekend, here's what was discussed in my column:

Thanks for posting the seizure list. Two things caught my eye when I looked over the list. First, the values attributed to the firearms are usually low especially for older collectibles.

Second, there were a lot of older curios and relics which will now be lost forever. There was a huge collection seized in Oklahoma (starts at bottom of B-8 and takes up most of B-9) which had many, many old collectible rifles and pistols. There were many I'd gladly buy to add to my collection.

I guess it is more important to ATF and Obama to destroy these evil old war rifles than to sell them and reduce the debt.

Reminds me of Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", where, after the Vogon announced that the Earth was about to be destroyed to make way for a hyperspatial express route, causing mass panic, he said, "There's no point in acting all surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display in your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years, so you've had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint, and it's far too late to start making a fuss about it now."
