UPDATE:  Workman left this comment two hours ago in response to a question about "foul play":

[T]he man is in his late 70s. Elderly people sometimes fall down. He appears to be doing okay at last report.

I raise this point because others have also asked via email and we need to keep it real.  The guy with the inside line to updates will be Dave, so keep an eye on his column.  I'll report changes/developments here, but he'll have them first and all I'll be doing is linking to him.

UPDATE: Kurt Hofmann tells me the Illinois Carry forum has "encouraging news...He's supposedly conscious, speaking clearly, in a regular room (rather than intensive care), and will not need surgery."

Colleen Lawson's husband David was one of the  co-plaintiff's in McDonald v. Chicago (or maybe they both were).  They've both been long active in the Illinois gun rights scene.  This is on her Facebook page:

He was standing at home and felt dizzy and did not fall, just let himself crumple to the floor. After ten minutes, he felt well enough to rise and out himself to bed, tho it was mid-afternoon. His kids found him like that and rushed him to the hospital, where it was determined that he had blood on his brain and

put him in ICU. Subsequent tests determined that surgery is not indicated at this point, and that it discontinuing his blood pressure meds may be efficacious in relieving that pressure. The docs felt he had been on them too long and didn't need them, and he reports a marked increase in feeling better this morning, following discontinuance of the blood pressure meds. As of last night, he was moved out of ICU and into a regular room. Although visits are discouraged without prior consent of the family, Otis welcomes your cards and has given permission for this status update to be shared with any interested persons.
